There’s a new addition to the American Iron Forum that I want to let you all know about, it’s an events calendar not specific to our forum. I thought it would be a good idea to add something like this and w/ the help of the admins, they made it happen, Thanks guys!

Here’s how it works –

The calendar is for any local event, car show, club gathering, swap meet, or race, not strictly related to Classic American Muscle Cars (ie this forum) It is also for weekly test-n-tunes at the local track, so please lets save the space for other events. Now as far as what I mean by local, I guess central Florida or anything between Jacksonville and Miami........simply use your best judgment. Since we have members in various areas, and we will travel for many of these events, we don’t want to leave something off that would be of interest to everyone.

Now the best part, you can add your own event! Simply go to the calendar
located here: ( https://www.tamparacing.com/forums/calendar.php ) and click on "add new event". From there just follow the steps. It's just like making a post. Whatever you add is what will be viewed when you click on your event from the calendar. Use key words for your title since that is what will actually show up on the calendar and grab someones attention. Please try to have as much information as possible in your description. If you can, give an address, phone #, times, and description of the event. Try to think what questions some one would have who would like to attend. Also as a courtesy to others, if you can, keep your title as short as possible.

If you click here and scroll down, you will see.......
https://www.tamparacing.com/forums/calendar.php

I’ll be moderating the calendar but if you run across something that you think does not go along w/ the forum, please let me know via PM.

I really hope you all enjoy the calendar feature and will continually check it and help fill it up! If you notice any bugs please let me know, or if you have any suggestions I’d like to hear them.

Disclaimer  - Information on the calendar is likely to change and can be weather permiting. So its up to you to make sure the event is still scheduled before you show up. Don’t blame whoever posted it if you show up and an event was rescheduled but you failed to call ahead!

Now have at it! :)

I've gone ahead and added some local shows in July and Aug to start. I was going to eventually add them to the following months as well. I also added Turkey Rod, and the Zyphyrhills Auto Fest in Nov.

I know you guys have a lot more so feel free to add them :).

Edit:I was thinking too that when you add something, if you would like to let every one know and call some attention to it, feel free post it here that you have made an addition.

From Senor Honda:
Formed years ago, Tampa Racing.com was founded on the principles of encouraging restoration, repair or modification of special interest vehicles. Over 102,000 members strong, Tampa Racing has no national affiliation, but you will likely find its members among any number of automotive organizations including the National Street Rod Association, Mustang Club of America, Goodguys, Florida Mopar Association, Corvette Club of America, to name a few. The type of vehicles found amongst the members varies from restored early 1900's vintage automobiles, to street rods from the 30’s and 40’s, to muscle cars from the 60’s and 70’s, to present day front-wheel-drive imports and motorcycles. With the wide range of vehicles come varying degrees of modifications from bone stock to big block Pro Street monsters. There truly is something to satisfy every automotive taste.

As with the vehicles there are varying activities that the members undertake ranging from weekly cruise nights and car meets, to cruises through the countryside, cookout get-togethers, Christmas parties, open track days, organized races, beach concerts and frequent car shows. The shows are perhaps the most popular venue for many of the members who engage in showing their cars at almost every opportunity. Tampa Racing also co-sponsors and/or supports select charity car shows, community events. This is a way of giving back to the local communities.

So come along and join Tampa Racing where you will always be a member of the family whether at a cruise night, car meet or on the highway. And remember life is good friends, a clean ride, and the open road in front of you.
