I have seen lots of Chevelles for some reason with one side of the exhaust comes out more than the other...maybe thats why.

you could pull the exhaust pipe off and the exhaust crossover valve off ( heat riser) and pry open the valve or replace it with a new one. but you don't need one in florida. it just helps the car warm up faster by heating the intake.

Headers where the first thing I put on mine. I didn't realize there was such a part.

they put them on most of the older cars i can think of. i've never seen a older car with stock manifolds that didn't have one. i don't know about the newer cars or when they stopped using them.

Before replacing it, get some rust penatrant. Preferrably Heat Riser Solvent, spray it on and see if you can free it up that way. Stuff works.

I checked that part and it was on teh right side of the exhaust... the side that was flowing good and the left side didn't have anything like that. I think it's got to be a muffler problem and he'll have to get that fixed at a muffler shop Besides that it's running really great now and he's really happy.
