Talking Yellow Skittle vs. The Dragstrip

I just had to post this in here to stir up all of you Skittle lovers.

This was a clean run (good launch, good shifts) for this SRT-4.

Now all of you people that are about to jump the import ship for a SRT4, well now you know what the really run.

Sorry for the shitty picture quality but the camera does not like taking pictures at dusk.

You have to admit its not a shabby run. Its better than anything Japan has brought over.

I don't think they are bad cars at all. They have potential. I am far from jumping the "import ship" though. LOL

Yeah it looked to me like the turbo was in a difficult place to get to. Come to think of it, the whole engine bay looked cramped up. No room to do anything.

the turbo is a TD04-16G-LR what makes it unique is that the exhaust scroll and exhaust manifold are cast as one piece. The engine bay is cramped because DCX designed it back in 99 to accomodate a 2.0L SOHC and 2.4L DOHC with a Turbo 2.4 option to be added later. As we all know the PT Cruiser is built on the New Neon chassis so in other words what fits in a PT will fit better in the Neon. The mounting systems and IC locations on both cars are identical with the PT holding a smaller IC up front than SRT due to space. The intake manifold (due to space) on the PT turbo is routed up and back over the cylinder head with TB resting over the coil pack. Both cars have equal length half shafts but the main differences occur in the tranny selections: PT Turbo gets Getrag 5 speed while SRT4 receives a New Gear Venture 5 speed. In the process of developing these two cars it was always clear that the SRT4 would hold up the extreme end serving the younger crowd while the PT Turbo would cater to the older crowd and families. Believe it or not the SRT engine bay is one of the most user friendly around as you can perform 90% of the tasks yourself as opposed to having the dealer do it. The run you see on the pic is not bad but they do trap higher (100-102mph) while running 14.0-14.1 . I know because even while being a passenger in a SRT running down BMP he still pulled a 14.3 at 99mph with a bad launch so again they do have potential....nice kill

14.3@97... a good run for my stock GTP!! I thought I was going to be able to test it last night, against a Licorice Skittle, but the lady in front of me slammed on her brakes for the yellow light, and the skittle just kept going through.
