Changes to come in War Stories **Read Before Posting**

As I'm sure all of you know, there has been a lot of debate going on about War Stories and the direction it's headed.

Rest assured, there will be changes made to get this forum back on track. Some of you may or may not like those changes and may or may not like the direction that has been chosen for this forum. That's ok. You are all invited to stay, and play by the forthcoming rules if you don't feel like you can do that or show, by your actions that you can't, you will be removed.

From this point forward, I'm treating everyone to a fresh start although I won't be as lenient as normal. Those who can't conform or don't want to will be dealt with. If the nonsense is taken to other areas of the board, where it doesn't belong, those people will be dealt with.

War Stories used to be a very busy forum that was frequented by a large number of people. They came to read about kills and deaths posted from around the Tampa area. There wasn't a lot of drama and there wasn't an over abundance of shit talking.

The forum was interesting and well liked. It's not anymore. Many of the same people I spoke about above have stopped coming in here. If it taked slowing this forum down and reducing the activity to get it back on track, then so be it.

To start, since they have been a cause of so much drama in the recent past, no more call outs, or call out titles.

That may change, it may not...it was never our intention to have a forum full of call outs. Yes they did happen in the past, but because of the infrequency of them and the fact that most turned out to be fruitful posts that actually resulted in a race they were overlooked. That isn't the case now, nor has it been for some time.

War Stories has always had call outs in it, they were overlooked and 'allowed' because they were few and far between and actually resulted in races. As of late, the past year or so, that hasn't been the case. More and more we are seeing threads turn into 10 page shit fests.

If it takes removing all call outs for the time being to get back to where we should be, then so be it.

I really don't like seeing the drama personally since most people just come to TR with nothing but negativity which makes the site look bad when its overlooked... I am going to start cracking down on people who do nothing but start problems around here and I am not just talking about War Stories.

I can also rephrase this. Instead of banning a bunch of people, we decided to try to clean up the forum.

This doesnt mean that callouts will never be allowed. In the past, they were done, and people were very cordial to each other. Ontop of the fact, that after the callout, they would really race. If this forum begins to calm down, I am sure we will be more prone to letting stuff slide on the occasion.

Feel free to continue to post your "War Stories", your "kills", and "deaths".

This isn't TF. This is TR, a racing site. All we are saying is to talk in here about your races...not setting them up. We have never condoned street racing so, this shouldn't be a huge surprise.

And, for those few who couldn't conduct themselves appropriately...they've been banned for a week, as was stated at the beginning of this thread.

Honestly, if we're looking for the good ole days where everyone (for the most part) was level headed, responsible, and ready to race... those days are gone. I'm sure we can fill in that void with Joe Schmuck with his hyundai racing bob newguy in his new Scion... but no one cares.

If you want to look at the downfall of war stories you can look right out on any given saturday night and look at the quality of cars out there, and you've got the same quality going on in here...

Like I told you tonight...my main concern is to break that first image you mentioned....a small group (10-20) of people who bash each other and anyone else who sets foot in here. It was never like that before and we always managed to be 'the' place for kills to be posted.

Are we that anymore? Hell no. Could we be again? I don't know, but I'm sure willing to work towards it.

We have never said that street racers aren't welcomed...but it is against the law and we don't condone it. This is a privately owned board, if someone doesn't like the rules they are free to leave...noone is keeping them here. The problem is that most people in here currently can't remember what this forum was like before it got overrun with drama and shit talking. That is the goal, to try and restore it to as much of its' former glory as we can. Some will like that, some won't. I'm guessing that the majority will be in favor of it, those who aren't can either conform or leave, that's what it comes down to at this point.

That being said, this thread was never meant to be a discussion or a warning for people to shape or or things would come to change. That's already been tried. Now, things are changing, that's just how it is.

We dont want to ban people. If we did, we would have cleaned up shop and banned the handfull of people who are stirring up shit in this forum. I am the first person that wants to let the users always have their way on here. But, when letting the users have their way starts to chase off more people then it's entertaining, then it begins to be a problem.

If this forum could be civil enough to where I would never need to get involved, I would be a happy person. The last thing I want to have to do is constantly monitor war stories. I hate locking threads, it looks like shit. Hopefully, it will get that way again, then you guys can have your way becuase I wont be having to watch every post.

I understand that people are causing drama, but atleast it was all in ONE forum section, and there wasn't bullshitting and fighting in EVERY thread on TR. I remember the last time call outs were gone, and it was boring as hell in here. Without trash talking, there is no point to war stories. I know that the mods/admins on this site have been in the 'scene' for quite some time now, and sure, its not what it used to be or anything, but there has ALWAYS been drama with racing. Actually, I am pretty sure that talking trash makes racing what it is. Nascar drivers talk trash. Drifters talk trash. Autocrossers talk trash. and streetracers talk trash. I am sure you've heard,"rubbing is racing", well so is shittalking, and banning people for talking trash isn't going to settle anything but make more drama.

It's hard becuase I WANT you guys to be able to have callouts. You guys seem to like to do callouts. And I like whatever it is that you guys like, thats my job. But, every call out turned into a flame fest. Then I would get PM'd from disgruntled people on almost every flame fest callout post. Now I got a group of people that are either going to get mad at me for making rules, or a group of people who are going to get mad at me for not doing anything about the sorry state of the forum. I HATE having to get involved, and I wish I never had to.

QSL is just like another TF thing IMO its a bunch of nut grabbing and B/S like that. Why is that you all can do so much for TF events but not much for TR

Dont take this in a bad way just trying to speak the truth of how most of us feel. Things might not change but at least you hear what we think.

So, you don't like Track Days and you don't like going to QSL where you can eat and bs with other car enthusiasts.....what would you have us do? I'm always up for suggestions, we've got a few things planned for the near future, but new ideas never hurt.
