Finally, back in action

So its been a little while since my last war story...mainly cause I blew a head gasket and found that my timing was in worse condition than I could have imagined. Anyways, a few hundred dollars later and some man hours, the engine feels strong again. No more sagging, or stuttering.
Just so happens that my buddy just purchased an Audi TT with a few simple mods. Exhaust, BOV, Cold Air Intake and computer tuning. So he agrees its not as fast as his 01' Bullit that he traded in, but none the less swears it is close and will "demolish" the SS. I warned that he hadnt seen the truck in action for a few years but he threw up the B.S. flag regardless. I dont like the B.S. flag so seventeen seconds later we headed out to the "track."
I wanted to be fair, so I went with a roll first...being turbo and all, I knew he would want a roll. We start at about 45, he takes the hit on the second honk instead of the third...and inches a car before I overtake and put about 3 cars on him by 80. Even though I pulled, the car was quicker than what I expected. So next we pull to a stoplight. he revs up and smiles, says "Theres no way your getting me out of the hole. You weigh 5000 pounds, I weigh 2800 pounds and I have stick." I gave him the salute and waited for the green. Light turns, I stomp it, roast the tires for a second or two and jump two cars ahead instantly. From there it stayed even for a few seconds and I started pulling again, this time seemed stronger than the roll. I ended up about a bus and a half length away by 80.
All in all, he was cool about it and admitted that despite the shitty primer gray paint job and gloss black rims, the truck had enough balls to take on his Bug on steroids. Later!

Nice going slickmatB. Sorry you couldn't make it out tonight. Can't wait to here the excuse. Hopefully the gut in the Turbo bought you a beer.
