I won!....then I lost.

Friday night I was comming back from Clearwater Beach headed down Gulf to Bay, when I came across a 4.0 Ranger with cold air and Flowmaster duals and an Eclipse with a fart pipe and I think nothing else but I don't know. Anyway, we start messing around and decide to race from the next light. someone was already in the left lane, the eclipse was in the middle lane, the other Ranger was in the right lane and I was behind the Ranger. well the light turnes green and we take off. right away i shot all the way over to the left lane and pulled ahead of both of them. next thing I know i'm being pulled over by Clearwater Police. So the cop gets to my window and "blah blah you're gonna get a nice $270 ticket for this one". So Im thinking just a ticket and i'll be on my way. but nooo I get arrested for racing and spent the night in jail. my truck got impounded. so i won but then i lost. oh well live and learn i guess. from now on no more races that i know i'll win. its not worth it.

Actually, you have no idea what you're talking about - http://www.sptimes.com/2004/01/16/No..._Tampa_p.shtml - That's my friend and he didn't get shit for it, so don't assume that he gets his license suspended automatically. But yes, get a lawyer.... And a good one at that.

Yeah my friend was caught street racing a friend. I believe he got some community service and probation. No license suspension though. This was St. Pete btw, I'm not sure if it's different in Tampa.

I think it's funny how quickly everyone jumps in to say "nothing will happen" and he'll keep his license. Shows the laws are really working We're not talking about some race on a deserted back road or bridge here, we are talking about crossing three lanes of traffic to race two other vehicles on one of the busiest roads in pinellas, you should lose your license. Whether you will or not remains to be seen.
