Civic vs Lightning, Mustang, Camaro

well, tonight turned out to be kinda interesting...as i didn't make it out to the usual destination until 2am...

once i arrived i found myself being surrounded by ricers wanting me to run a 99-00 Civic Si with JRSC. i declined...and wasn't really in the mood to run anyone until the ricers left...etc...

so finally, that happened and i ended up agreeing to run a lightning (whose owner is on the board named "fusion" i think???) from a 40mph roll. we ran, and he was 3 deep w/ people and he pulled me by over a car to 115mph...

about an hour after that i found a group of v8 guys...one with 97 LT1 SS, Fox Body Mustang with some work done, and a 2000+ GT w/ 3.73 gears, intake, exhaust and something else.

first run was with the mustang, 40-115 was what we figured (as i can't go any faster with my ECU) and i pulled him by 2-3 cars easily.

second run came against the fox body mustang, not sure what he had but it sounded like the strongest of the 3 and i pulled him by a solid car before he shut it down at around 85mph.

third run came against the 97 LT1 w/ exhaust and i'm not sure what else...and i pulled him by at least 2 cars and maybe more.

they were all friendly and respectful toward my 4 cylinder economy car...and we talked for 15 minutes and then went on our seperate ways.

this setup still needs to be tuned, exhaust leak needs to be fixed and i need to remember not to run on a full tank of fuel.

It was good meetin' you Chet!!! Nice runs!!! Your hatch is pretty strong, you caught my friend in the 02 GT off guard, I don't think he's ever seen a HB with a B18 as there aren't any Honda's to worry about here in Lakeland. Good luck on the tuning, I can't wait to see some slips afterwards

was nice meeting everyone last night as well...the guys from lakeland seemed pretty cool...better than some other v8 owners i've run into in that past. i think everyone was kinda surprised at my little all motor 1.8...as you guys kinda looked me suspiciously when i told you everything is 100% OEM. also...i'd like to know what kinda times that lightning was running...as it did as well or better than an LS1 camaro i ran...

overall...myself and ron did ok considering the cars we both ran...as he lost to smoore's NSX and the tubbed out chevelle. the other red rousch mustang (not DJ Trauma) lost by a car length to ron from a 20mph roll to 120+ and he's claiming to have 420+ rwhp.

something doesn't add up...DJ trauma spraying 125 shot (according to race related) plus the same setup as this other guy...and getting smoked?

this is how a night out is supposed to be...and i don't think i'll ever be making it out to the usual destinations before 1:30am anymore.

and terminator...i'd like to run next weekend so i can post about it in the srtforums

LOL the 'Velle owned gandy.

The L is stock with an intake btw

with 3 people including my not so skinny ass.

Good runs, but it woulda been worse had we'd not be goin home at the time

the lightning was faster, plain and simple.

if we could have gone from a slower roll (40mph) or 60mph it would have been slightly different...but i'm sure i would have still been pulled.

i need tuning before i can start running with them...also..any idea what it runs?

i was just wondering about MPH...as its hard to compare ET's.

Yeah, I had a few good runs last night, just need a plug change, first 2 runs with the civic the motor broke up a little bit, but still put a pretty good beating on him. Nice guy though. The run with the 68 Firebird was pretty good, he says he didn't spary, but I call You could definately hear it kick in, and smell it after, but I still pulled him anyway, so I think he was just pissed. I think his buddy has the 350 Z with spray that everybody tore up. Pretty good night though.
