In my opinion.....

I've heard good things about Autobahn....never been there though. Personally the best "all around" shop for vw/audi that I've been to in the last 8yrs is Cars and Concepts. They are re-doing my turbo kit that was installed improperly in Orlando, so I made sure I was 100% confident with their knowledge and professionalism before I had another "yes" man touch my car. I went there to talk to and meet the guys there before I brought my car in. Now I've found my shop!!

Cars and Concepts : 4711 N Manhattan ave. Tampa fl. 33614 (813)348-6183
Cars & Concepts, Inc.

If you are doing heavy modifications to your car, then 1552 in Sarasota is the shop. These guys have been featured in countless magazines for their ground breaking cars. Look on the page at their "project builds"

FYI, Autobahn only works on stock(ish) cars in regards to engine issues.

cars and concepts is a great shop, the owners are very nice and helpful.

I also suggest calling S&R performance. They have done an awesome job on my car with everything from custom shift knob, to a full drivetrain swap to a custom FIA approved cage. Don't drive a vw, but I have seen a few in there... they work on everything.

have u turned on the car and listened to the car with the hood open..
most of the common boost leaks on these cars are really noticable.
check under the intake manifold there are 2 vaccum lines that are prone to crack..

if u do it all urself it should cost that much..
if u have time while the car is off, check under the intake manifold, there are 2 rubber hose's, on of them goes to the right and the other i think goes the same way.
check to see if it has any cracks in it. you can hear the leak when the car is on with motor running, its a rather loud hissing sound.
those hoses have a tendency to harden and crack over time due to long term heat exposure. and there only like 25 bucks
as far as a cat back, depending on how big u want ur exhaust to be it is cheaper to just buy the piping urself and have a shop bend it. it will prob cost u like 100 bucks rather than 700 or w/e european companys charge.
go to fixxtuning.com, they sell self service tune up kits for rather cheap on there.
all toghether it will prob cost u way less then if u have a shop do it..

Id get a tune-up kit off of NGP or one of those site. Fixxtuning is a little too pricey compared to whats out there.
