You could almost write the history of America with Coca Cola commercials
It was 1886, and in New York Harbour, workers were constructing the Statue of Liberty. Eight hundred miles away, another great American symbol was about to be unveiled.
Like many people who change history, John Pemberton, an Atlanta pharmacist, was inspired by simple curiosity. One afternoon, he stirred up a fragrant, caramel-coloured liquid and, when it was done, he carried it a few doors down to Jacobs' Pharmacy. Here, the mixture was combined with carbonated water and sampled by customers who all agreed - this new drink was something special. So Jacobs' Pharmacy put it on sale for five cents (about 3p) a glass.

Coca-Cola on the front lines. That's hardcore. The rumors about cocaine are probably due to the fact that soda counters were in pharmacies and I'd wager a guess your local pharmacist would serve your drink in a manner you preferred. Cocaine was readily available in numerous forms by manufacturers until 1914. A pharmacy would have been where you would buy it, so...why wouldn't you ask the guy at the counter to mix you up a Coke & Coke? But I wasn't alive in 1900, let alone drinking Coke, so I can't really say one way or another. But Coke putting bottling plants at the rear of a military conflict to support the troops is one of the coolest things I ever heard. Fat Santa is the man. New Coke was insanity, the taste of Coca-Cola never gets old, it's like coffee, it's timeless. And thanks Coca-Cola allowing bottlers in other locales to import sugar based Coke so we can still get The Real Thing.

BTW if Coca Cola Company monitors this... I would suggest that since you likely have the power to do something about the sugar prices in the U.S. (or maybe your benefiting from that high price) you should switch Coke in the U.S. back to sugar. I have switched to pepsi now because they offer a sugar based version. I would gladly switch back to Coke if it had sugar in it. I'm just not willing to pay the high price for Coke from Mexico. I would bet that some of your people already know this but there are less adverse health effects from sugar as apposed to HFCS. ...and it just tastes better.
