does horsepower really matter here?

pretty lazy run up a local road..was recorded before leathers and boots so the pace quite slower then now..btw the bike that passed me at the top of the hill makes roughly half the HP i do at the ground

lotus on the same hill was around 6-8 seconds quicker..difference gets a lil smaller when i am really pressing on but anything i can gain he can as well. the only place where there is an advantage is in the straights. catch is, he has me in the brakes on the other end of the straight anyway.
