Learning a new program on my computer...kinda neat, but not easy. Here is a sample....I call it "Look out Taka!"

Sorry for the poor resolution. (and yes, it's kinda short...just playin around.)

I really didn't pay attention to the codec, etc...I was just rendering the effects. Just trying to learn how to do animation over video.

As far as "fast Start", that wasn't an option when I encoded....of course, I don't usually use quicktime....

It wasn't about the footage...it was about the animation and motion graphics. I'm an amatuer....gotta learn somehow.

BTW DebianDog, which codec did you use to compress it?

That was a Sorenson 3 Codec. You can find out this info by looking at the video track info. Many, windows, internet folk will bitch but if you use DiVX it will make an AVI file that "most" people do not have a problem playing. So either Sorenson, DivX, MPEG (usually bigger), or Windows Media if you have software like Cleaner

I usually host my videos in mpeg format, but I was playing with Adobe After Effects 6 (my first day with the program), and I haven't figured out all the little details yet.

Proper compression is more of an art form than a science. People appeciate large, clear, small file sized video.

Tip 1: Many times the video will look just as good at 24 or 20 FPS. I usually cut off like a minute at the beginning and try a few different encodes see how they look then do the math to see how big it will be.

Tip 2: If you have QT pro, a fast computer, and a big monitor, you can open up all the videos, rewind them all, and play them all at the same time.
