i think the head will bolt to the 22re block but not sure if your fuel injected intake will work.

you can put the efi mani on a carbed 22r. thats a common conv. for us 22r guys.
just swap the whole 86 engine into your truck and bolt up the efi stuff... it works!

to put a 20r head on a 22r it has to be machined to fit, if you want to talk to someone here in tampa who knows what hes doing, go to toyotaminis.com his user name is grounds and some numbers after that but he posts about everyday and just search around because the forums are dead there and it wont be hard to find his posts. Tommorrow we are going to cam my 22r with a stage 2 trd and 38 weber carb.

UPDATE:: the 22r has a hemispherical head so the pistons will hit the head cuz the 22re isnt hemi... gonna try to swap pistons and see how it goes...

my truck was efi then converted to carb .... there is a mechanical fuel pump on the side of the 22r head so im almost certain you wold have to change the head to back to efi ,like i did to go to carb..
