In my opinion banks is way over priced. A friend of mine has the kit on his cummins and feels the same way. I've always liked edge, some swear by them some don't. It really depends on your truck, some have limits and some don't. Post what truck you have and let us know what you are looking for. Example, my friend has a CTD dodge on 35"s w/ dual friction clutch 4.10s, 6 speed w/ granny. Is there a truck out there that can out run his truck hell yeah, is there one out there that can yank him around, not a lot of them. What are your goals? What do you want out of the truck?

my truck is a 02' 2500 6.6 Duramax, my goal is to keep good gas mileage, and i want to know that i can back up to just about anything and yank it down the road like 10,000-12,000 pounds but also i want to be able to yank a honda out of the hole and let him smell some diesel instead of rice

If it were me and I had money to spend I'd get a AFE intake, Turbo back exhaust (no muffler), Edge Attitude w/ the Hot code unlocked and a Sun coast transmissions Converter at a minimum and a whole trans if possible. I'd run on 285 70 17s on H2 wheels (cause they are cheap). That's my .02 cents. When you've got it built i'm sure we can arrange a little tug o war between the cummins and the duramax. I'd also invest in some tire rod end sleeves so that you can launch hard in 4wd without snapping one. 10 to 12K lbs is nothing for a 3/4 ton diesel, they'll pull that all day long up any hill there is in FL. I'd say with that set up you'd be getting about 18 to 19 mpg. a Co worker gets an honist 18 to 19 @ 70 mph with AFE, turbo back exhaust and the 90 hp bully dog tune. go to the 120 and fuel economy drops quickly.

i appreciate your opinion and i have looked at all that stuff, but i want something that will not hurt my motor or tranny the Banks kit has things that de-tune your truck to protect from high EGT's and stuff like that, i think im going to go with Banks in the end, but payin that much money is going to take me alittle to save and pay for it

go with the big hoss bundle and be sure to also get the torque converter!..banks warranties its products and its the safest way to get good power out of your truck without blowing/breaking anything!

Got a bully dog triple dog calling your name , it's an awesome programmer, and for the GM/dodge trucks it has the Crazy Larry 230hp tune, they didn't do that for ford because of the headstud problems (if I didn't have a ford, I'd keep the bully dog, and run crazy larry), but with any programmer, on any truck you're gonna need atleast the torque converter in the tranny at a minimun because it's adding gobs of power to a stock tranny.

To be completely honest, banks kits are overpriced as I've said before, and as anyone else will tell you. You want the best bang for your buck, piece it together. Have an exhaust shop run you a nice 4" straight pipe for around $200, spend $200ish on an intake, and $400ish on a programmer, you really don't need the intercooler, etc. unless you're going to be towing a heavy load all the time, which it doesn't look like you're using that truck as a work truck to tow 15k lbs so you'll be fine. If you wanna get the exhaust done, PM me and I'll hook you up with my exhaust guy, does GREAT work and you won't find one cheaper.

Edge has all the back down features the banks kit does + you can add a back up cam and GPS. Make sure you research before you over pay for banks.

are you asking what motor mods we have or everything?

Motor wise:

SCT xcal3 w/custom tunes by DJ-Performance
4" Silverline Turbo back Exhaust
k&n intake
ARP head studs

I have an AFE Stage 2 sitting in my garage but I can't find someone selling the stock intake elbow for my truck so I can put it on!

We just put a Bully dog triple dog outlook combo on a 06 Cummins an it was nuts at 35 when got into the higher boost numbers it would light up the tires like you were sitting in water. The outlook combo also has a egt monitor an a detuning portion when EGT's get too hot. I would reccommend a MBRP catback, an Bully dog Outlook combo.

Yeah, I sold my bully dog, and I'm running a banks 6 gun ATM, on setting 6 (highest), and it shifts alot better but doesn't come close to the power the bully dog had, the banks is only temp. until I get my SCT because a friend sold his truck and had it laying around, and my truck was uber slow without a programmer

The best programmer on the market for the duramax is EFILive and PPE hands down. That's what most of the big dog duramax sled pullers and drag racers use.

You couldn't pay me to run Banks on my truck. It's overpriced and overrated. I guess it's ok if all you want to do is pull a trailer.

I have EFILive and love it!

Some good fourms for the Duramax.
