lifting an 06 silverado

Hey everyone, i am trying to get some info on doing a lift for my 06 silverado. After talking with some people they kind of talked me in to the Fab Tech 3.5" spendal drop kit.

I was told that i can run my stock 17" rims for the time being till i save up for the rims and tire i want. Is this true?

Now i have a 2" levling kit (not installed yet), is it possible to do both the levinging kit and the spendal drop? I don't see why not. And then just use a bigger block in the back.

If i did both would i have issue with parking garage's and home garages. I am looking at running 285/50R20.

Or could i run a bigger tire without any clearance issues?

Thanks for the help guys.

measure how high your roof sits now and add 3.5 + 2 and then your tire size. The leveling kit only raises the front correct. You want to run 285/50R20 what do you have now? I think parking garages are 9' and you wont be that high. Im not a fan of the big rims i like the fat tire look id keep the 17s or get 16s but its your truck. post some pics.

The leving kit does raise just the front, but i would just use a bigger block in the back.

I also don't like big rims with small tires that is why i want a big rim with a big tire.

285/50R20.

I'm not good with tire profiles i only know if its written like 33/10.5/16 so about how tall are 285/50r20s?

They come out to just a liitle bit taller than 33 if i'm not mistaken. Something like 33.1 or 33.2
