RV tow bar
Sorry this isn't as HOT and SEXY as DOHC, valve covers, turbo chargers and such, but powder coating can spruce up just about anything. I bought a pre-owned 2004 Monaco Diplomat motorcoach (manufacturer link) in late 2005 and it had a tow bar installed that can tow a vehicle of up to 6000# 4-down (a "toad" in RV speak). For what it is worth, the 1999 Regal GS I initially towed WAS supercharged !
Quite a peppy ride for a frumpy sedan, thank you very much! I kinda hated to sell it last year, but after 125K miles I thought it was time. Replaced it with a Grand Cherokee 4x4 HEMI, so don't count me out just yet!
As you can see in this "before" pic, the tow bar wasn't a thing of beauty even back in 2005 when it was not that old...

In the 3+ years I have had it, it continued to degrade. It was dull, the paint was lifting on the pivot point around the big nut, and it was rusting badly to the right where the internal shafts exit from the main arm. I regret not getting a more recent "before" pic. Anyway, you get the idea.
This winter I was hanging out in the Tampa area and through the wonders of Google I stumbled upon Josh. I really admired him for his focus on the powder coating trade and his motivation to make something of it. The sample photos in his forum were impressive. I was glad to send some business his way rather than toward some larger shop where the attention to quality might not be as high. I wish him well.
The parts seemed to clean up nicely and here you see them before they were reassembled.

I contacted the manufacturer of the tow bar and got a "refurb" kit that replaced bushings, washers and springs that are subject to wear. I was also able to convince them to send me new decals, so this thing looks practically brand new at a fraction of the $500-$700 price of new. I almost hate to use it!

To tell the truth, I actually first contacted Josh about powdercoating a part for the stove in the coach. The finish on it was pretty pathetic and never looked very good. It was only after talking to him about this part and meeting him that I asked if he could handle the tow bar. I have yet to install it, but this part also probably looks better than when it came from the factory...

So while I can't vouch for the durability of these finishes just yet, I can say that Josh is interested in doing a good job, seems to do a good job, so I would highly recommend him. Frankly I think he should charge more for what he does, but I guess being a "value" shop is part of what it takes to get a business going. I say more power to him.
ROCK-ON, RVers!
