Bradenton Drags Event (pictures)

We stopped at the Bradenton dragstrip on our way home from the Festival of Speed thing in St Pete today and I took a few pictures.

Nothing great, but might be of interest if it's your car. The pictures are here:

FWIW, as an old school drag racer, I'm both amused and amazed by drag racing today. Seeing Honda Civic's running 12's just freaks me out. Seeing slicks on the front and front wheel hop freaks me out. Turbo belches and people who don't have a clue how to launch amuse me.

good pics, you were busy today! That is my grey/black 240 in picture 21c.... about 5 minutes before the yellow integra freight trained my car.

I can't remember any specifics but I was quite impressed with some of the times being turned. My drag racing days were the early to mid 70's and these cars today are 2 seconds quicker with 1/2 (or less) the displacement. Not bad even if some of y'all do need to learn how to drive!

in the P2260012c pic, i ran a 12.97 against the gnx next to me. Not bad for cheap street tires on a FWD car

Yeah, we were only there for an hour or so and I wasn't motivated to go looking for better camera spots. Next time I'll get up in the bleachers and/or wander the pits for pics.

Wow, then Civic's that run 9's and 10's must really blow you away.
