Wrap Up On Track Event # 7

We had less cars (92) at this one than the last (119).

The lines moved great for the exception of three breakdowns. After the breakdowns were cleared the lines thinned down to just 4-5 cars in line.

I was not hot lapping and got 11 runs. Made 2 runs back to back four different times and waited less than 5 minutes every time. Tell me the last time you paid $15-$20 for a regular test and tune day and got 10-15 runs without waiting in line all day / night ?

Lines getting in the track were long this time for some reason and that will be fixed for the next one.
Track prep was plenty good, it pulled my shoe off walking on it. Even with my car not hooking like normal I still got into the 1.5 60 ft. range and that was at the end of the night when traction should be the worst, so I do not understand the bitching but realize someone will always be bitching about traction no matter what. Some people need to realize so days YOUR car will just not hook for whatever reason.

These events are not for the fastest street cars in Tampa it just so happend that I had a lot of very fast cars at the previous events but a lot of them could not make it this time. These events (in my book) are to promote a alternative to street racing. The normal fast cars could not make it for many reasons but mostly because this was on a Friday night, which we will not do again.

Overall it went very smooth and we will continue to improve as we go, next one will have a designated person at the water box to guide traffic. The one thing that pisses me off a little is that we had a lot of people that just decided not to show and not bother to say anything when we had many other people that wanted to run in there place. We have never had that problem before.

Thanks to all of you that showed and I hope the majority of you had a good time !

This was my first TR Track day, and I had an absolute blast. Track prep overall was good, and yes, the track did start to get a little slick, but thats all part of what makes racing fun, having to adjust to the track to see what it will and wont take. I definitely look forward to the next event!

Traction?

They didn't tell me to stop running due to the degrading conditions, I knew on my own when to stop. The track might have been prepped well at times, but if I didn't get up there right away, it was crap. I was spinning at the 660!? I had to cheak my shorts a couple times. On a good note I didn't have to worry about my car wheelieing off the line.
