As you know, last year’s elections have given us an opportunity to begin to return to limited government under the Constitution. But they also revealed something disturbing about our country’s young people.
In last year’s primaries, the majority of millenials (Americans youngest generation of voters) gave their support to a candidate who openly embraces socialism!
This indicates that we have failed to educate too many young Americans about our nation’s founding principles and about the reasons America developed into the freest and most prosperous nation in history.
That’s why Hillsdale College has decided to accelerate its efforts to reach and educate Americans – and especially young Americans – with our new and improved online course, “Introduction to the Constitution.”
This course is compelling, with very high production value. I think it will engage today’s young Americans, and will convey to them the importance of the Constitution to liberty.
We’ve set a goal to enroll 100,000 people in this new online course during the month of May. In order to accomplish this, we must raise $150,000 by Saturday, April 28. These funds will be used to launch an extensive promotional campaign on digital and social media and on national talk radio!
Since Hillsdale doesn’t take a single penny from the government, even indirectly in the form of student grants or loans, we rely on donor support for all our operations—including the promotion of online courses.

More than one million people have taken one or more of Hillsdale's free online courses in the past five years, deepening their knowledge of such topics as the Constitution, American history, and free market economics. While we are proud of that accomplishment, we are aiming higher. That's why we recently produced a new and improved version of our very first online course, “Introduction to the Constitution.”
We increased the production value of the course and made it more compelling and more engaging with one main purpose in mind—to allow us to reach more young Americans with a message they very much need to hear.
If we are able to educate a million additional young people on the importance of the Constitution to liberty and on the reasons that America became the freest and most prosperous nation in history, we can begin to reverse the effects of decades of progressive education.
For the launch of this new course, we’ve set an ambitious goal of enrolling 100,000 students this May. In order to do that, we must raise $150,000 by April 29.

The American presidency is often called the most powerful office on earth. This is so not only because the nation which elects the president is the most powerful nation on earth, but also because the American Founders designed the office to be strong and effective. However, the Founders also placed certain restraints on this power, which are necessary to maintain liberty and protect citizens' rights.


The modern understanding and structure of the presidency are a threat to freedom due to the accumulation of all three powers--legislative, executive, and judicial--in the executive branch and the breakdown of constitutional restraints.

Hillsdale College has been offering online courses since 2011 to anyone who wishes to learn. At no charge.
