I don't sell publicity. I give it away. From various sources I collect
content and post it and companies or individuals benefit from the no-cost publicity. A little like when Jay Leno and David Letterman would show things related to companies and comment on it....and in the process, the company got publicized in front of millions of viewers.

With a particular company that sells many items for a car garage, since I began posting their advertisement and some photos for free, there have been over 8,166 views on Tampa racing. Their facebook has only 2,410 likes.

I had no intention of them ever paying anything to me or Tampa Racing.
I had no intention of asking them to do any additional work.
We were both benefiting from me posting their advertisement and some photos.
I got content that some people wanted to look at, and the company got a lot of cost-free publicity.

When I multiply the 8,166+ views (and more as of this morning) times 24 of their ads on Tampa Racing, that comes to 195,984 times their ad was seen by people interested in the car scene, and likely to become customers of their garage products.

The mutual benefit that we both had is that a lot of people read Tampa Racing. The last time I checked, there were 102,521 members on Tampa Racing. Their company got the benefit of a widely publicized ad and I got the benefit of interesting content for Tampa Racing. I think of it as a form of cooperative advertising. No money exchanged hands.

The company did not have to pay anything, and did not have to do any extra work. The company had offered postcards for me to distribute at car shows saying the car show participants could get a free T-shirt by sending in pictures of their garage. The publicity they got for free did not cost the company anywhere near the same amount as having to send me 8,166 postcards, and required no extra work on the company's part to print and mail the cards.

I'm in Florida and I know some of the people from here. 64 Florida people had responded to their ad with some photos. I could give you their names, the Florida city, and which post they appear in, but I don't plan to. The more times I posted, the more Florida people responded to their T-shirt offer.

The first post had 0 people from Florida. and 636 views.
The second post had 1 person from Florida and 1,134 views
The third post had 11 people from Florida and 2,934 views
The 4th post had 23 people from Florida 1,746 views
The 5th post had 29 people (so far a total of 64 Floridians) from Florida and 2,308 views as of the morning when I talked with a company representative.

The 6th post has had over 137 views and has no pictures at all.
Clearly they were getting some good publicity from over 8,259 views,

and I was getting some content for the website.
That company as well as Tampa Racing, both benefited from this.

When the company requested that I no longer post photos which they say were on their site, I went to their website, and each time I found a photo that appeared in both locations, I deleted it from Tampa Racing. I did not delete photos which did not appear on their website.

They recently requested that I remove pictures from Tampa Racing that were also on their website. After confirming that they truly wanted the pictures removed, I deleted them.
I also deleted the 24 ads, deleted pictures containing any signs related to their business, deleted any pictures containing their company logo, deleted any posters related to their business, deleted pictures containing their company logo and deleted any publicity that I had given them.

Most companies don't turn down publicity that is free of cost and free of extra work.
I multiply 8,116 times 24 of their ads and that comes to 195,984 times their ad was seen.
For all practical purposes their ad was seen 196,000 times. It has exceeded that number by now.

This is the internet, folks. I found photos which the company had represented as belonging to their website, and some of those photos appeared in about nine other sources. I cannot control that people have given that company wider publicity than the company believed possible, but as for Tampa Racing, unless I overlooked something,
there is no longer any reference to that company on Tampa Racing.

Formed years ago, Tampa Racing.com was founded on the principles of encouraging restoration, repair or modification of special interest vehicles. Over 102,000 members strong, Tampa Racing has no national affiliation, but you will likely find its members among any number of automotive organizations including the National Street Rod Association, Mustang Club of America, Goodguys, Florida Mopar Association, Corvette Club of America, to name a few. The type of vehicles found amongst the members varies from restored early 1900's vintage automobiles, to street rods from the 30’s and 40’s, to muscle cars from the 60’s and 70’s, to present day front-wheel-drive imports and motorcycles. With the wide range of vehicles come varying degrees of modifications from bone stock to big block Pro Street monsters. There truly is something to satisfy every automotive taste.

As with the vehicles there are varying activities that the members undertake ranging from weekly cruise nights and car meets, to cruises through the countryside, cookout get-togethers, Christmas parties, open track days, organized races, beach concerts and frequent car shows. The shows are perhaps the most popular venue for many of the members who engage in showing their cars at almost every opportunity. Tampa Racing also co-sponsors and/or supports select charity car shows, community events. This is a way of giving back to the local communities.

So come along and join Tampa Racing where you will always be a member of the family whether at a cruise night, car meet or on the highway. And remember life is good friends, a clean ride, and the open road in front of you.
