V8 In 2nd Gen RX7 - Need Quote FAST

Basically what I am looking for is a quote on parts & labor for a carburated small block Chevy or Ford motor and a manual transmission to be fabricated into a 2nd or 1st Gen RX7. I want a turn-key swap done, along with anything necessary to keep it running safe; exhaust, radiator, carb tuning, fuel upgrades. No need for power steering or A/C. I called a "local shop" for a quote, and I was told **$13,000 at least** ... I think this price is RIDICULOUS... The same shop charges about $10,000 to put an LS1 into a 240sx, and that swap isn't NEARLY as documented or straight forward. Can someone help me out with a decent quote? You can either PM me or post it up here. Also, if you have any questions about the swap that will help generate an accurate quote, feel free to ask

Thanks in advance

No one? I have no clue what shop on here would be up to this. And it's not even that difficult or rare of a swap...

LOL... 10,000? What is with these crazy numbers I'm hearing? A stock carb'd SBC motor and trans for about $1,500, Premium/Deluxe install kit from Granny's Speed Shop for about $2,000, Other things like, carb, fuel components, cooling system upgrades, maybe about another $1,000... That's $4,500 to be GOOD TO GO... I can't imagine a $5,000 labor cost for a bolt in installation and minor wiring

Bolt in installation?

Minor wiring?

Have you ever done an engine swap?

i had to wire up:

Fans
ignition
water pump
starter
alternator
battery
oil pressure switch

just remember, your going to need turn signals, caution flashers, horn, interior lighting, etc.

For a shop I would consider that to be basic wiring.

Castillo Auto Repair in Plant City, FL ph#813-707-8881.

They can put a 302h.o. in there for less than about $3000 turn key price. He builds custom race cars and can fabricate mounts and chasis.

He won 1st place at Nopi at Bradenton a few years ago with his suzuki samurai with a ford turbo setup and he has built another samurai with a chevy 350.

Chevy ls motors are more expensive but get better results. For the money I would go with a stroked 302 and boost it.
