Thread: engine battle ?

i have yet to EVER see a 4a make 400+ hp. gze block or not. dyno sheet and vid please! the toyota motor atlantic 4a's were only 240hp and was a fully built engine with ridiculously light engine components etc... most power ive seen from even a turbocharged 4a was ~290rwhp.
and as for "real" racing, beleive it or not, the suspension on my 84 is setup for corners, not drag racing. my 86 will be the same and i plan to actually autocross the 86. 6m with big cams, 10:1 compression and tripple 45mm side draft carbs should scream through a 6-1 header with 3in collector and exhaust. should make a fun car to compete in. might even take the 84 after the 2j swap is all done, though the nose will obviously be heavier due to all of the turbo components and longer engine etc...http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2042690/1 black 84 supra, 7mgte, truetrac, bbk, etc.. more in the works
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2117186/1 blue 85 supra, beater
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2965297/1black 86. saved from the crusher! wicked setup on the way.

look, the 3tc is the oldest of the bunch.. it is out dated, but i never once said anything bad about it... my first car was a 80 corolla coupe with a 3t and i beat that car to death, but yet it never died. like i said i like pretty much all toyota motor's. since everyone's on the deffensive, whats so wrong with the 4a?? again i don't have a probelm with your all's opinion, why would you care about mine so much? stop being so pussy hurt and get over it. any motor u pick is the right one..

You can make 500 on a stock GZE short block with rebuild. It HAS been done and keeps being done.

It honestly boils down to what the OP's intentions/goals are and his budget. Each has their pros/cons. Figure out what they are and decide what is best for you.

7mgte. Coolest thing I've heard in here.
Gt35r or equivalent. Insta boost. In this case, power in more places is better than more power in one place.
But whatever this beans business is, sounds really cool too. One of you people should do that.
Also, I'd like to see a ka24. No d, no e, no t. Just, ka24. Lol
