Default Megasquirted 1jz inside...

I finally met my goal of 400 whp today with my 1jz gte. Mega thanks to Casey for the unlimited dyno usage, and Martin for conning me into turning up the boost.

Here is my setup:

Stock 1jz gte top and bottom with 60-1 to4b turbonetics turbo running 18 psi, and 2jzgte stock cams.
Megasquirt MSn' Extra coil on plug sequential fire.

I got a whole 180 bucks wrapped up in this ECU...

Oh yeah, and whoever dosn't know, it's in a truck

i should have my ms running on the 7m as soon as the new motor is in. except im usin a ms2 and the edis 6 ignition. that link is to a group buy im doin for custom crank triggers for the edis ignition. fits 5m, 6m, and 7m engines, maybe others. bolt pattern is m8 4x65mm. heres the pics of what i got so far.

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2042690/7

its a ms2 3.0 board, 4bar map, stimulator, etc.. just need to make the bracket to hold the crank sensor and then get the wiring harness done. im waiting on that cause i have a tig now and will be making a ffi with a 1uz tb and might as well wait otherwise ill end up redoing the tps wiring and such. good job man, also, how long did it take you to tune? and do you have a good base map for timing fo the 7m? im gonna be runnin a large turbo, and 830cc/min injectors on dual walbros etc.. all on a stock 7mgte for now with mhg and arp's, then once the built motor is done i can trns it with a good base tune and less worries of any "accidents" while getting it running right on the exspensive buildup.

I'm not using EDIS. The smart guys over at the MSEFI forums wrote code to decode Nippon Denso style 12 + 2 trigger wheels. They also allowed for 6 spark outputs on the MS 1 chip. I have a V3 board with the V3 VR conditioner for the stock crank sensor, and I built a LM1815n circuit in the prototype area for the rear cam sensor. Dropping one cam sensor allows for a trigger ever 720 degrees of crankshaft rotation which configures the MS to directly fire 6 coils in sequential fashion. This is why having one cam sensor is important.

Since I don't have EDIS, I can now control spark in other ways such as a spark cut rev limiter and spark cut with retard staging limiter (which is great fun).

Bowling and Grippo will be introducing the router board which will allow for sequential injection and ignition with the MS 2, but until then, I'll stick with
ms 1.

This is great! It's marvelous what tuning and a big turbo will do. And the fact that it's cheap is even better.

I'm running the exact same stuff except with stock turbos totally stock motor and I'm barely cracking 300. But then again I don't have much $$$ in my setup.

Turbo truck ftw.

after i know all is well with that i will decide my next turbo setup and go for MSnS 3 if it's all good by then.

can't wait to see those trucks sometime.
