Did I mess my STI up?
Hi,
I have purchased a 2011 STI hatch...had the car for about a week or so...Tonight I was coming back from Disney..long day..kids in the car making alot of noise..wife being annoying..radio playing..im not use to a 6 speed...so i look down and notice..from the time I hit interstate from disney to about lakeland I had been in 4th gear...my car was running at 5000-5500rpm...I only noticed when I glanced at the rpm and was thinking...why is my car rev'd so high...i was going bettween 70-80mph at times...once close to lakeland i relized this and shifted into 6th gear and was at about 3500rpm...now...no check engine light...no oil light..no over heating occured...car seemed fine the rest of the way, but it really freaked me out..can anyone chime in? am i screwed? seriously first time owning a 6 speed and 4th and 6th gear im just not use to it..with everything going on in the car i couldnt hear the engine...i did however notice when pushing 80 the gain wasnt normal..will this effect anything?
Thanks all,

Your fine. Just wasted some gas mileage. Did you already break in your clutch?

Relax, at least the engine is "broke in" now! Srsly, nothing to worry about, BTW duct tape and tie wraps make good babysitters.

if it makes you feel better go ahead and change your trans fluid.
That what I would do to have that peace of mine.....after revving the piss out of it for so long.
as stated before you really should have nothing to worry about.
congrats on the Subie!
