Just wanted to make sure the info I've been reading is correct. I'm planning on ordering a set of Rota Grids in 18x9.5 ET38 I have BC coilovers and for tires, I will be using 255/35/18. From what I've read I need the following:

-extended wheel studs to use with spacers (How long of a wheel studs should I get?)
-5mm spacers up front to clear Brembos

Info I've also read on the net:

-I should have no issue rubbing (inside) because I'm using coilovers.
-255/35/18 will be a slight stretch on the tires
As long as my ride height is not real low I should not rub the fenders. (Stiffen up the coilovers.)

Any info would be appreciated. If you have a pic of this set up, Please post a pic... Below is a pic of the set up that convinced me to get the set up.

alright as far as extended studs go i wanna say with up to 5mm you dont need extended ones. also even with 255/35 you should be able to go pretty low with a little tuck just run -2.5 or so camber and you should be straight. the offset on the grids are pretty week so dont worry about it i would just roll your fenders and maybe a slight pull if needed. im running 17x8 g forces with a 25mm spacer to make it a +23 offset right now with my megan coilovers maxed out and im not rubbing at all. if you going for hella flush the grids can work but the offset is alittle weak. you should get some 18x10 +25 miro stp-1 like im getting. here is a pic for reference.



also here is a thread on nasioc that you can check out which is all hellaflush cars including quite a few running grids. these were my original choice but after seeing them they are not wide enough.

I don't think I could per say pull or roll my rear fenders. I have that plastic trim that's on the rear fender and I've read that it will pop off if you try to roll/pull the fender.

no you just have to have the right person do it. if you go to s&r performance down in tampa mike does an amazing job. but if you dont want to roll or pull then youll have to run the grids with something like 235 tires at the biggest if you want to go low or stay alittle higher with the 255s

I had S&R do a pull on my 240 and I agree, they do a good job. I had 18x9.5 +20 with 255/35/18 on the rear of my 240.

i got grids with 265s and i got rolled and pulled fenders and the rears are all in tack no broken clips...youll be be fine depending on how low you the lower you go the more camber your going to need to tuck 255s.

Their is no point in running that wide of a wheel/tire if you not bringing it to the track, It puts excess strain on the drivetrain and lowers mpg...but im sure you already know that and your probaly just going for the "hella-flush" look, so that leaves me wondering why you even bought a STi in the first place.

I like the concave look of the 9.5" If the 8.5 had the concave look I would have gone with them, so to get the look I like/want I have to go with the 9.5. As for why I bought an STi, because I wanted one.....

here we go again another one of those function loving people. look some people just like the look of hella flush and dont care about function and obviously they know the risks when they do it. yes it puts strain on the drivetrain and wheel bearings but we like the look, just like you would probably like the look of a tracked out sti with 10inch wide tires with some 295s on them sitting at stock height for the track, but it doesnt all have to be function its ok to like the looks of being low with alot of camber its not your whip bro so i dont see why you kind of people always have to chime in on this kind of stuff.
