Default Car broken into

My car was broken into at about 0230 this morning. Just off of Curlew and 19 in front of my home. It had to have been someone that owns a 2G Eclipse, as some of what was taken would be useless to someone without one. But what gets me here is that higher dollar items weren't touched. They didn't try to get the stereo out, or take my turbo, intercooler, or any of the easy-access stuff under the hood.

What was taken:
Front bumper cover
Rear wing (Turbo model)
Gauge cluster bezel
Boost gauge
Innovate LC1 gauge (They left the sensor and controller, so I'm not sure why they even wanted this.)
OBDII Bluetooth adapter
Garage door opener

The body parts are maroon, and both the bumper cover and wing had some sun fade. If you see anyone trying to move this stuff, please let me know.

Update - He's been caught.

#1587810: Marc Southworth

Seven felonies, and additional charges from other incidents. A real piece of work, and only twenty years old. This is the face of recidivism, folks. Enjoy your ass pounding in the pen, kid.

Don't steal.

They recovered some of it. But I'd already replaced everything but the wing. Fortunately, since he already confessed, the detective in charge of the case said restitution for that is pretty much guaranteed.

Might be a good idea to start a list of everything that was not recovered, with the values
of each item. Might be worth asking for restitution for damage done to the items.

Unfortunately, unless it becomes a condition of probation to keep the dirtbag out of jail,
he will come up with every excuse not to pay you. Seven felonies says he knows the
system well and has some schooling from other dirtbags.

Maybe the judge will do what's right for you.

Good call. The detective in charge of the case asked me to send him copies of all the receipts for parts /paint. I'm sure he'll do everything he can to duck paying me, I pretty much expect that from anyone who'd steal what were mostly junkyard-type parts. But he's still on the hook for the bill from what I've been told. We'll see how it all plays out. I've got to go in tomorrow morning to his bond hearing to ask the judge not to release him on bond or lower it.
