Everything Macro
Everything Macro
I'm not sure how many people may be interested in this topic but I know since I started shooting more macro and posting it I have received many questions and been given suggestions on improvement. I thought that there may be some interest in macro. I figured this thread could be a good place to talk about the gear, the techniques and the things that we find online.
Not to self promote but if anyone is interested in my macro work you can check out my set on Flickr. Questions or suggestions are always welcome.

So to kick off this thread and hopefully spark some discussion, while looking for ideas and looking at other people's macro set ups I came across something very, complex, to say the least. Complete with lasers for precise focusing. Some people may call this overkill but I just call it impressive. Be sure to click to see the flickr for more info and to give the photographer your thoughts and to become jealous! I chose a few angles (he has more) to give an idea of his set up.

If you check out his photostream he does have photos using it, photos of him using it, and diagrams of what all is on there. I will be perfectly honest, I wasn't very impressed with them. He has some with insects in flight which I thought was pretty cool but to be honest I find I get the same or greater results with the gear I use.
