how to remove a stuck oil filter
yeah pretty much, and if it doesnt (sometimes it can slip) a layer of electrical tape on the inside then clamp and pull again it should spin.
i am pretty sur ei know which one he's talking about and it's definitly not a special tool, just shitty. but goddamn man. it's not hard to get a filter off.
actually I cant remember if it was the KA or the SR but this oil filter was insane to get off. It was like if you could have used an impact gun putting it on, thats what someone did. Some cussing and muscle and yanking and kicking things and sweating taking off an oil filter it finally budged. Still we didnt put holes in it lol
I've put holes in one with the screwdriver/hammer technique before on a Toyota V6. When it's still hot, its tough to get to if someone used a tool to put it on. I really dont understand what people dont get about "hand tight" for oil filters. If you use a tool to put the damn thing ON, you're probably a tool yourself

i always just stab the screwdriver through the filter, straight through the fat part and twist it off, if i have room. If not, ill do it at an agle. just depends on the car. if its on that eclipse its not bad.
filter cups/sockets are what you really need. they grip the flutes tight and you can use a wrench
