Angry amp problem

installed new kenwood monoblock amp into an 07 avalon and am getting shitty response from the sub. i sued the high input plug on the amp and got the source from the factory bose sub wires. when i turn up signal responce on the amp it wil clip. i get some bass but no where near what it should be due to the fact i cant turn up the gain without it clipping. is this because im getting the signal from the factory sub or because im getting signal after the factory amp??? any help woud be great

The signal should be perfectly fine where you got it for high level inputs. If you're using 2 subs, check the polarity on them and be sure one isn't backward.
