Use a pick, needle nose, or take a flat screwdriver and bend the end 1/8" to 90 ish degress.

Thanks to good advice from John & Toby I figured out how to get the clip off - After I got it off I was like oooh ok now I get it.
Unfortunately he bought5 1/4" speakers instead of the needed 6 1/2" so I had to cut panels but they turned out very clean - the outer rim of the speaker basket sat flush with the OEM mounting hole. The midbass was nonexistant though so the w0s will have to carry the slack.
I am concerned a little about water swelling the paneling but for $30 I think he got a deal anyways. Note the quality soldering
