well brothers racing customer "quick" managed to suck his exhaust valves threw his intake track and back into the turbo ruining it :stated by danniel church aka jap dan.
however i belive s and r one uped them, when quick took his evo 9 to s and r after being told this rediculas story by danniel he was qoted a fairly high price but agreed with it because as he said there shop was nice, after the build was complete during a test drive a problemb occured and the block was torn down agin and what did they find? a "bubble" in the block of a brand new evo 9 even better when asked y this bubble was not previosly a problemb he was told it seems the bubble is getting larger. so all you tampa racing guys looking to get a build, take your pick. brothers-exhaust valves going threw an intercooler into your tubo s and r- a bubble in your block. at least the turbo is cheaper to replace, amazing how a valve went threw an intercooler core tho ehh? |

he told me that he had his stock turbo modified to a 16g killer aka. ball bearing peice of crap that will max out at 420 hp and cost as much as a 35r or an fp3065. my guess is that someone at brothers told dan to tell him his exhaust valves went into his turbo and ruined it witch was very possible and dan came up with the whole turbo spinning backwards and sucking the valves threw and intercooler bs on his own. imo s and r is just fucking the kid over but of course he wont listen to me. im thinkin about tellin him i got an x ray macien and i will check evo blocks for only 1500 each, would be a steal considering s and r is charging him damn near 2 grand for a block alone. |

I think its really amusing that I seem to be the talk of this thread and no one here knows what they are talking about.
How is a ball bearing modded turbo more than a 35r? If I can get a 35r for $500 let me know. Plus I was never told that this so called 'bubble' was getting larger???? My car is running fine now so w/e keep talking Id rather pay more money and know the job is done right than get crap work done for cheap. You get what you pay for. Let me know how many Evo ix blocks you can find that arent from the dealership. Do some research they are indeed 1,800. |

if any one can find a 35R for 500 bucks i would be amazed... and it is very hard to find a evo 9 block.. most of the times you have to just go threw the dealer.... glad your car is running good |

my estimate on price of 16g killer came from sbr i didnt take into consideration that u had your turbo sent out saving you the cost of the 16g itself,
i was told about the bubble getting larger from someone else sorry it must have been rumor, and your right its better to pay more and have it done right then to be cheap. im sure something was wrong with your block mabee cracked mabee out of round cylinder but i refuse to belive that there was a bubble in your block. sorry for spreding what was evedently a rumor about the bubble growing. i would like to c s&r respond to this thred and explain how they detected a bubble in your block and how it got there and so on. i would not expect a response from brothers about the valves because im sure that was a story fabricated by dan who from what i understand no longer works for brothers racing. So your telling me if a valve is broken in a cylinder head that while the car is on will not leave the cylinder and travel into the turbine blade ? It's a very common occurance that when a broken valve leaves a cylinder in a turbo vehicle that it goes through the turbine blade . Not into the compressor side through the intact spinning backwards or whatever story you came up with .. I never said it went through the IC into the cylinder or whatever you THOUGHT you heard from someone
I never said the turbo was bad I said my best guess seeing the rest of the motor is the turbine blade is done . Considering pieces of the valve in the oil pan and all the small pieces of metal left in the turbine housing ... and he was told his block had a crack in it when we got it machined . He brought over someone who said it wasn't even though it was evident just by looking at it that it was damaged ... Let quick fight his own battles , and stick to your own If you have anything to discuss regaurding me please do so in a PM and stop trying to slander .. Last edited by Jap : 10-26-2007 at 01:27 PM. |
