**Official Ride of the Month v2.0** thread

I have taken from the few threads started about this and I have consolidated it all into one thread.

The Objective is to start this back up again but with more support, understanding, and dedication.

Let me start by saying if you want no part in this, dont agree in bringing this back, have complaints about this or that - you can keep it to yourself and steer clear of this. I personally will enforce a zero tolerance policy on all the e-hating, asshole-ness, trollness. It's ignorance that ruins everything... Now with that out of the way, here is what we got.

This is a group effort so by no means it will be a game of favorites or any one individual will run this.
There will be a committee that will impartially play an organizational role in order to ensure that all criterias and minimum expectations are met. This will be purely volunteer and will be for the sole representation of what TR has to offer.

We know there are a ton of you out there that have worthy rides of being nominated and we want you all to know that this will be a legit thing and not some phase that will go away.
Many Many sites have their versions of ROTM along with their tons of issues and problems as well. That is why we would like and need the support of as many of you as possible.

Along with myself, there are several that appear to be truly dedicated into making this work - again, for free and on our own time - therefore a little appreciation for the effort we put in is all we ask.

The Official ROTM staff will be announced at a later date but will consist of users with a broad collective knowledge in several fields in the automotive industry.

In regards to a timeline for each month, this has been proposed:

From the 1-5 of each month we will debate a theme.
From the 5-15 we will nominate rides fitting that theme.
From the 15-25 we will vote on the rides
And after the 25 .. the winner will be posted.

regarding nomination, this has been proposed:

Each ROTM commitee member will nominate ONE ride.
Each member is responsible for at least ONE nom

Users may nominate as many rides as they want. The first 10 nominees will be posted in a voting thread.
In the case users nominations exceed 10 then the committee nominations will be voided and the first 10 user nominations will be put in the voting thread.

Voting system proposed:

Voting will consists of the usual poll voting which will consists of 80%
And the commitee vote.. which will be ONE vote counting for 10%
And a Mod/Admin vote ... which will count for an addition 10%

The commitee will take a look at - effort, time, budget along with the exterior, interior, motor of the vechile while also givein a special amount of credit for "creativity" concerning the theme of the month.

The Rules will be very similar to what was in place prior:

The ROTM forum will consist of a nominations thread, and a voting thread for each month. In the voting thread, post pictures and usernames of those you wish to nominate. The first 10 nominations will go into the voting thread. Once 10 nominations are recieved, the nominations thread will be locked, and the voting will begin.

When Nominating, Please Keep picture sizes to 800x600, and a Maximum of 5 pictures.

A Nomination with no pictures will be ignored.

You must be an active registered User for more than 90 days to be nominated for ROTM.

NO self nominating!

You may not nominate vehicles that you do not currently own, or have owned in the past.

The User being nominated must accept the nomination to be counted in for Voting.

No more than 10 nominations a month will be accepted for voting. It's a first come, first serve method.

If you nominate or are nominated for ROTM and win, you may enter ROTM again after a 1 month waiting period.

If you nominate or are nominated for ROTM and DO NOT win, you may submit again the following month.

No sense having users contacting other users about users nominating users. Free & Open nominations. Its up to the committe to contact nominees and inform them.. we gottta do something otherwise were just circlejerking

In the old ROTM ( ) people would nominate users and that user would never even know they were nominated.

Of course.. thats why we have committe to get all that nonsense cleaned up

As far as nominations go.. how about a link to either a build thread or members rides thread or at least a profile link lol... would make contacting the users a little bit easier haha

Reminder:

- Only TR members that have been on TR for over 90 days / 90 posts deep may be Nominated and may VOTE. Any results from users that don't fit within that criteria will NOT be counted. 2 reasons, 1. ROTM must be for someone that is an ACTIVE ESTABLISHED user 2. this eliminates the possibility of having one hit wonders sign up only to vote and never come back.

- DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT create multiple accounts to add votes for yourself or other users. 1. they wont count (see above) and 2. it can get your usual screen name banned along with the new ones - Established rule -No multiple accounts per user. This will also include having Relatives, Significant Others, ect trying to help you win. It will only help you lose. So if you get nominated, please share this with them to avoid any problems.

- The NOMINATIONS thread should consist of WHO you want to nominate and if you are nominated a RESPONSE in regards to the nomination. NOTHING ELSE.

- The VOTING thread is only for posting up who you want to win. ZERO TOLERANCE for childish trash talk, facebook chatter, HATING, ect..... Only PROPS can be given to a nominee but NO hating/flaming/ect...... Your post will be removed immediately.

As I have been stating before, the ROTM project is going through an on-going development and modification as we see the need. Feel free to post constructive POSITIVE ideas and suggestions in our ROTM Suggestions thread stickied on top..

As long as the votes are impartial and voted/decided on they work fine.. unfortnately its like communism, only works in theory.

why should 1 persons Vote count more than another...just cause they are committee/mods?
They are still just 1 single person.
