Thanks Hurst.....
I stripped some more today..... Got the pass side done, did the panel on both side in front of the door pillar and started on the cowl panel..... This paint removal crap is gettin old but it's a necessary evil so it's done right..... Some good news though, I only found 2 small spot of bondo on the pass side not even as big as the ones on the driver side.....

Doesn't seem to be bad at all for an almost 40 year old car.....
I have been getting a bunch of stuff coming to the house(parts and supplies) that I had to get to the shop..... Got all of my POR15, some epoxy primer, new paint gun, some nice blue powder coated front upper/lower control arms and a bunch of other stuff.....
Also stripped the rest of the firewall and the pass side tower.....

Are you doing away with the shock towers?

I needed to get some protection on the shell because it was starting to surface rust, specially the roof where it had surface rust before..... Plus I needed a little break from stripping paint.....
So I cleaned every bit of old seam sealer out of the drip rail area so the rust in those areas could be treated properly..... Then I sanded the roof and pillars, cleaned all remaining paint and debis out of the window openings and trunk jam..... Next I finished prepping the rust areas for POR15 by first cleaning the surfaces with Marine Clean and then Metal Prep..... Dried everything off after rinsing and wiped it down with solvent..... Then I sprayed 2 coats of POR15 on the rust affected areas of the roof, pillars and drip rails.....
Tomorrow I'll get some epoxy primer on the roof, pillars, trunk jam and drip rails.....

ya know Frank I would send a picture to the owner and tell him your upset as you found some rust and you want your money back or a partial refund. I would love the look on his face seeing his old car apart.

Only 1/4 mile track I know is Gandy Bridge

I went down this morning and sanded the top and sprayed it with the PPG DP60LF Epoxy Primer..... Everything is looking good so far..... I have a little metal replacement to do around the left tail light opening and right lower quater right behind the door jamb this week, then I can spray the rest of the quaters and rear panel with epoxy.....

Haven't got anything done to the car since the weekend, but I did get some goodies from Calvert Racing..... Got some Caltrac's, Split Mono Leaf Springs and 90/10 front shocks..... Some other stuf also came but this is the fun stuff, man I wish I was closer to using it.....

Did some rust repair today and got it almost ready for some more epoxy primer..... This is what I consider proper rust repair.....
Here is the hole after I cut out the rust.....

With the patch cut and fitted.....

After welding and grinding.....

Also repaired around the driver side tail light and rolled the lip on the rear fenderwell openings..... I also sanded everything else in prep for epoxy primer.....
Before and after of the tail light opening.....

Got the rest of it in epoxy primer this morning, and got it back on the tires again..... Now I can get back to stripping the front end, then remove the cowl for clean up.....
