Back to my old ways
Thanks to Chris (Bottlefed93) I get to start something I have been wanting to do for about 13 years.
It has sentimental value because my late sisters mustang was the coolest thing ever to me when I got my license. She had a 92 GT hatch with a sunroof... that she let me race
Her car had only 24k miles on it in 1996. It was super clean.
Her car

I've always wanted to replicate her old car (but a little faster
) since I was 15.. I have never found a good enough chassis though. But now I have one
1990 lx (It made it home
)

Plans are to get a good suspension under it, straighten up the engine bay, and drop something under the hood to get it back on the road. Then I will be able to enjoy it while I restore it, and eventually toss a turbo in the mix.. I miss that feeling
I plan to cut NO corners, as I never have on my other cars, so this won't be a weekly update lol. But when the updates come they will be worth the wait.
Just putting this up, I'm not new to Fords , but I'm glad to be back in a Fox again!
Thanks to Chris , Josh, and Ray for helping me out.
Here's to a good future with her

Thanks for the support guys.
At the moment I am leaning on putting a 4.6 2v in with a tubular front end. (after many heated debates with a few fellow old school employees on my countless options
)
Eventually put a Kenne Bell on it.
Hope to keep the a/c as well, to make the trips to the track and nights out a little more comfortable.

Picked up a donor car, 89 5.0 with working a/c a couple months ago and drove it for about a month and a half.
I will be stripping that and getting the goodies off of it, like the dash , glass, doors, front end, block, trans, driveline, ... basically everything lol..
It looks like the sunroof in the '90 is not original Ford, so that will be coming out as well, and in its place will be going the one from my '89.
Both are 25th anniversary.
Looks like its going to be a low comp. 5.0 stroked on a factory k member, then upgrading from there. I want to get it on the road so I can enjoy it while I work on it. Nothing soon, but I am starting to gather a real plan of action now.Last edited by 1BADP71; 10-28-2010 at 09:53 PM.

There are no 'factory' sun roof fox body mustangs. They were all dealer or aftermarket installed. They had a tendency to leak after a few years because of the way the chassis flex on the hatch cars. Coupes didnt seem to have that problem.
Be sure to take progress pics. I like reading and watching other's projects progress.

Day I brought it home.. make that "night"

Got to spend a little time on it tonight. As more Time goes by, I am getting a lot better at deciding where I am completely going with this car.. I don't get to work on it much , but someday I will be able too. Did this tonight.
