I am thinking it has something to do with the edelbrock 600...fiddled around with the idle screw and still nothing....definetly life's great mystery just so long as it won't drive me nuts!

So wait a second......you rebuilt it and it didn't work right? That sounds more like operator/rebuilder error than the carbs fault. I've run a Holley for 16 years now and never had a problem...It's all about how you adjust it/set it up. It may have been too large for the application...or something else. I've had nothing but problems with Edelbrocks, but then again, I'm used to running Holleys, so when an Edelbrock starts running crappy, I just chalk it up as it being a Edelbrock....Could be the same thing though I guess. Try a rebuild on the carb and an adjustment on it. I'de be interested to see what it looks/sound like. Does it spit out black smoke while running? Does messing wiht the timing do anything to it? How old is the dizzy? Is it an electric choke or manual?

the edelbrock is brand new and is an electric choke....the distributor is fine as it was working before I yanked out the motor....the strange thing is before I pulled the motor everything was working fine....all the wires are hooked up fine on the distributor as well....I think when I redo the brake lines for the dual master cylinder I think I am just going to take it over to Superservice Auto Center in Plant City....still waiting on the Hedman headers that are being ceramic coated....hopefully but the end of the month she will be running

Do you have pwr brakes? Also, what is the electric choke hooked up to?

Not trying to down you or dis you, just trying to help diagnose the problem.

NO man the car has drums all around....definetly going to change probably the fronts to disks over time especially because of the power increase....this is going to be one bad wagon....I haven't fiddled around with the edelbrock yet regarding the electric choke
