Once I get the fender painted I'll look to shoot some holes in it.
I did up a two view rendering:

I did up the stereo system layout (gotta have some kind of music). Pretty basic with stuff I have laying around the garage. It should be loud enough with the stripped interior.
The sub box will be removable. I'm going to make the 6 3/4 speaker boxes to look like the ones in the picture. I was going to try to make them look like the SINCGARS speaker boxes but they are way too complicated.

Duck tails are custom as far as I know. I think *edit* it was Griggs *edit*not McClaren (SP) that made something similar but its impossible to find.
Those tail lights are the stock 79-82 lights. I like them better and it makes people go HuH? Jo$h hooked me up with a set.Last edited by KAILUAZ; 01-11-2009 at 12:25 AM.

I'm ssllowley becoming enthuseddd.....
I'm still collecting parts, I just scored the correct "year" rearend in a 5 lug 3.73 posi. The drag thing is starting to dwindle, the 4 banger auto-Xer is starting to gain momentum, pleas ekeep any 2.3 parts, especially engine stuff if you can. at least DO NOT throw them away!!, I'll scrounge them- rob

Eric, your artistry and attention to detail in THIS phase (planning) is going to pay dividends when the build comes to fruition bud.
Keep it up!

Thanks dude. I found out first hand when I rebuilt my 83 GT that you need have a flexible game plan first. I dumped so much time and money into that car its sickening,,, just to be disappointed in the end.
Nice thing is I'm taking my time and I'm not worried about how long it takes. When I hit a lull I can check out the pics and get motivated again. That's why even did the stereo setup pic, at least I can look at it and visualize it when I'm done.
Anyway enough ranting,,, laterz.

Thanks Rob, I love those cars.
So I've been browsing local ads for a 460 for some time now. I found a guy named Brian that listed one on Craigslist with a engine stand and c6 trans for $100.00. I thought he must have left a zero off the price because everything else I've seen has been at least $400 for the engine alone.
So I email and call him to find out the deal. Turns out he bought the engine and trans about ten years ago when he was going to swap it into a 93 Mustang. He then found a deal on a 67 Fairlane and put all his time into that (nice car BTW).
He says the combo has been sitting in his garage since then and he wants to free up some space. He said he knows the economy is in the dumps and he wants to sell it to someone who can really use it instead of it sitting in the garage. I confirm its $100.00.
Sounds too good to be true but I figure its worth taking a look at. Jeff and Ed from The Stang Gang offer their truck to go pick it up tonight. Wade from TSG rolls out the engine hoist for me to use and off we go. One hundred dollars later, some gas money for Ed and I have my 460 in the garage.
Once again a huge thanks to Jeff and Ed for helping me out!!
Check out the pics, its super clean:
