a bud of mine had an lt1 with the same problem, he got some intake cleaner and it worked. Just disconnect your intake down to the throttle body and fire up your beast. Spray the cleaner into it and rev the car up. Use the whole can, and get ready for tons of black shit to spray out the back. GL

sounds like typical hi side electrical in the opti going bad. compare the resistances and voltages at the opti with what GM specifies.

also, ignore eautocad.

eautocad 09-03-2007 12:16 PM

is that bad for the motor? please explain i would like to know because im considering it on my ls1

dalinkwent05871 09-04-2007 05:47 AM

lol....

my lt1 was giving problems similiar to that... it ended up being the sock (filter) on the internal fuel pump.... I would go through everything else that they say *first* like opti, because my fuel pump was not easy to get to.. and no fun at all...

my car got so bad after running for a little while it would start to break up even at idle.. if yours isnt doing that and only breaking up when reving it probably is opti...

driftaj89 09-04-2007 06:32 AM

umm ur throttle body could be all gunk up or might just need to do a full tune up..its about 800$ in parts and 3 to 4 hours to do..have fun..

Itonlysmokesalittle 09-04-2007 07:40 PM

will try

Itonlysmokesalittle 09-05-2007 08:51 PM

im just going to take it somewhere becuase its starting to drive me crazy

TURACE24 09-07-2007 04:32 PM

quick test, wait till night fall, the dead of night when its really dark. open your hood start your car....... make sure you are not in enclosed garage.. look at all your spark plug wires and see if they are arcing anywhere. raise the rpms up to the level the car stutters, and see if you can see any arcing. The wires should not be sparking or showing any glow whatsoever. Its a quick test and you dont even have to get your hands dirty

Itonlysmokesalittle 09-09-2007 09:37 AM

ill try it tonight, a few people said it might arc in the opti

1badZ 09-10-2007 12:27 PM

o2 sensors...

TURACE24 09-10-2007 12:36 PM

what did you come up with anything?

Itonlysmokesalittle 09-12-2007 09:16 PM

Yea I acually found out I have no money, and im hesitant to tear it down myself becuase it is by far the nicest thing ive ever had. Im 90% the problem is in the opti, it basically runs like a vehicle with piss poor timing.

TURACE24 09-13-2007 03:54 AM

the opti isnt that expensive..

Sneakin Deacon 09-13-2007 05:10 AM

neither is a crank trigger conversion.

Itonlysmokesalittle 09-13-2007 10:43 PM

lol I know there not much, but my funds are real low. As of tonight my car lags when you rev it up fast and i hear a sucking sound once its warmed up which seems odd. I'm basically waiting to sell somthing so ill have some money.
