1UZ-FE Gearbox?

Is there a manual gearbox that will bolt up to he 1uz-fe or do I have to buy a bell housing adapter from Australia?

buck19 12-03-2005 09:39 AM

maybe a 5spd tundra tranny/gearbox?

Orion ZyGarian 12-03-2005 05:20 PM

Sorry bud...modded bellhousing from Australia for a manual tranny seems to be the only way..I would personally use the MkIII Turbo's R154, although I didnt know the Tundra actually had a manual tranny (6 speed...probably the same one on the new Tacoma's V6) till I just checked.

Technically, it should fit from the Tundra's 4.7 V8, since its the 2UZ and somewhat whatever resembles the 4.0 1UZ. I'd be surprised if it didnt work, but I dont know anything about this new 6 speed tranny whereas the R154 has been proven with like 600rwhp+ stock

you can bolt the 1uz heads onto the 2uz block from what i gather so they might be the same if the heads are interchangable.

Orion ZyGarian 12-03-2005 07:01 PM

Everything UZ related is interchangable pretty much...try it and let everyone know :D

hachibill 12-04-2005 03:59 PM

the only stick shift tundra is the 6cyl. all toyota/lexus v8's are auto. and there is a difference bewteen the 2; all the v8 in the lexus cars are aluminum, all the suv and truck v8's are cast iron.

1uzfe=4.0 aluminum
2uzfe=4.7 iron
3uzfe=4.3 aluminum

the only way to go is to get a bellhousing from ausie world. ohh and buck stick with nissan's.

buck19 12-04-2005 04:03 PM

I'm putting it into my Toyota Pickup. I need something to tow my broke ass nissan all the time

hachibill 12-04-2005 04:04 PM

please go back to nissan's...we don't need you messing up toyota's too. please.. i beg you.

Dude it's a work truck.

Mars_302 12-04-2005 09:03 PM

why do you want a manual anyway?

buck19 12-04-2005 09:20 PM

the truck is a manual.

supratruck 12-08-2005 06:07 PM

What year truck do you have? oh and if you find the guys that sell this bellhousing, show me. ive had a hard time finding it....

buck19 12-09-2005 07:09 PM

www.delloauto.com/au they make cast bell housings for a variety of gear boxes, but it is pricey and you have to pay shipping from Australia.

My truck is an '87 22r

if you dnt want to go manual, you could buy an adaptor from me to fit a th350 or th400. it bolts to the front pump of the trans and lets the stock auto bellhousing bolt to it. then get tampa tq convertor to make a custom convertor for the application. im doing this for the 7mgte in my 84 supra.

buck19 12-18-2005 09:06 AM

The thing about putting in a different tranny is I'll have to worry about driveshaft angles. That way if I static mount the factory gearbox I can keep the factory angles and make a custom bellhousing to fit my application then take the static mount out...
