Vehicle Title question....need some help/opinion

So I'm looking to buy this 95 eg hatch for about 2,300 & I looked up the vin & this is what I found, 3 accidents but they happened a long time ago & the car looks like its never been in one. One thing I was wondering was what does EXCLUDED / EXEMPT mean?

Damn I would pass on that thing....

Not sure on your question though. Weird.

PooN_Lude 11-17-2010 07:32 PM

I'm pretty sure that is referring to it's mileage. If someone didn't enter the mileage correctly on transferring a title, or if the cluster broke or something like that - the car's mileage is referred to as "Exempt."

Anthony2393 11-17-2010 07:34 PM

So if I buy the car would I have problems registering it?

scott hutch 11-17-2010 07:41 PM

No you can register it fine. But the mileage thing and the 3 accidents should have been a red flag. A firey red flag.

^ There is NO Major Red Flag on that report... Um, you must be a car buyer...

I have re-built titles and used to deal in insurance austions.

Dude,

Here is what you have:

EXCLUDED/EXEMPT

Means: In FL you are not required to report mileage on any vehicle over 10 years old. Therefor it is Excluded and the mileage is Exempt.

So, yes then car is over 10 years old.. It is fine.

ACCIDENT HISTORY:

There is 2 accident reports from state agencies and 1 from insurance agency. The way they show, they are nothing major, probably done so it could be claimed on insurance and repairs made by insurance agency.

As for the accidents: Even in minor collisions, if there is an accident report, it is assigned to the vehicles vin. There is no C.O.D., Salvage, Rebuild-able, rebuilt, flood, current liens or major damage history on that report.

There is NO real red flags on that report.

So,

It looks free and clear. So, you would have no problem licensing or driving it..

i was correcting another poster. I have to notorize DMV paperwork all the time, so i knew it was 10 years. But i recently tagged a car and the lady said 10 years so i know it hasnt been changed to 5 for a fact.
