Presidential Detailed: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR
Alex (boostedej25 here on TR) came to me with this car wanting a "basic" exterior and a interior detail. I thought I was going to have it easy, you know one-step on white...I was in for a little surprise..
This car looked clean for a few feet away, come closer and you will see rail dust and contaminants ALL throughout the cars paint. I spent most of the day clay baring this car, because I knew I would only be one-stepping it and it needed to be prepped very well to get it to "Presidential" standards.
I just finished the exterior about an hour ago, I will be working on the interior tomorrow morning...
Exterior:
Optimum Car Wash
DD "Uber" Red Drying Towel
DD "Uber" Wool Mitt
Dual Buckets with Grit Guards
3m "green" Masking Tape

Adam's Invisible Undercarriage Spray
Menzerna 106FF/ LC CCS White Pad
Menzerna Top Inspection
Tons of Uber MF Towels
Adams Window Cleaner
Black WOW
LSP:
Lusso Oro applied with Uber Foam Applicator
Interior:
1Z Einszett Capet Shampoo
1Z Einszett Cockpit Premium
Leather Masters Foam Cleaner
Leather Masters Nubuck Protector
Adams Window Cleaner
Uber All Purpose MF's
Wheels:
P21S Wheel Cleaner Gel
World's Greatest Boar's Hair Wheel Brush
The Wheel Well/Fender Brush
The Spoke Brush
Tools:
Dual Work Lamps
Dewalt Hi Speed Rotary
Foam Pad Cleaning Brush
DD Detail Sponge
Canon Rebel XTi
Craftsmen 295MPH Vac/Blow
Now to the pics:
EXTERIOR BEFORE:

Products used to clean wheels:

Wheels getting cleaned..

The contaminants in the paint(these were throughout the entire vehicle)

After Clay Bar..

Took the wing off to buff the trunk..

A Little P21S TAW always does the trick!

Taped up, ready to be polished..

This was the ONLY pic that turned out, it was hard to capture the swirls in a white car..

After Menzerna 106FF/Before LSP

The owner requested that I remove these stickers..

After a little heat, prying, polishing..

09-06-2008 10:02 AM #62. When questioned by a friend's girlfriend, you need not and should not provide any information as to his whereabouts. You are even permitted to deny his very existence.
37. Before allowing a drunken friend to cheat on his girl, you must attempt one intervention. If he can get up on his feet, look you in the eye, and deliver a "fuck off" then you are absolved from all responsibility.
