I'm not sure what was going through his head, but the Pats pretty much let him run through so they could get the ball back. I think he was confused? by that and wasn't sure if he should score or not, and as he went to knee the ball changed his mind and scored.

He was supposed to down the ball at right there which would have wasted a LOT of time then they could have kicked the field goal which is almost guaranteed at that distance which would have given the Pats like 10 seconds or less to try to score. If the Pats would have scored, he would be ridiculed for the rest of time for that.

zhillz is pretty much right. he wasn't taunting anyone, he was supposed to go down at the 1 yard line so they could get the field goal. That would have allowed them to run down the clock not giving the patriots enough time to run the ball back. But he decided he wanted his superbowl touch down. If you watch the way the patriots responded to the play, the only people that were going after him were trying to tackle him into the touchdown. Notice how the players to the sides of him just stopped running even though they had a clear shot. That touchdown almost cost them the game. It gave the patriots plenty of time to run the ball back. Which, if they could have held onto the ball, they would have. Even that last hail marry pass came close to a touchdown.

I was sort of rooting for the giants to win just because i didn't really want the patriots to win it, but to their credit, the patriots did play a better game.
