Guitar literature
So I just picked up my guitar for the first time in about 5 years, I played when I was way younger, mostly simple punk stuff, repetitive power chords and all that. I picked up a nice little Dean and a 40w Marshall amp for a steal and figured I'd get serious about it and actually learn some worthwhile legitimate stuff.
Now, I have guitar pro and it's really helpful, but rather than just learning other songs, I want to learn various chords and start playing my own stuff as well. I was looking to order some books, I found this series on Amazon but holy shit it was published in 92 and most of the comments were saying it's kind of AC/DC style stuff, which isn't my cup of tea

I really want to learn some more modern styles like Mastodon, Avenged Sevenfold, August Burns Red etc. aside from using Guitar Pro, do any of you have any literature that you found helpful, or know of any decent books I could pick up?Last edited by RhinoFLA; 02-03-2012 at 10:11 PM.
