***Official*** Ask an officer thread..........
I have seen this on other sites and I think it would be a good addition to TR. It would allow users to get Q+A on all things law enforcement, have discussions, and tell all their war stories. I just think overall it would be a good addition to the site. feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them with my law enforcement background. All questions need to be in RED FONT and answers will be in GREEN FONT.
Questions not in RED will be deleted, no exceptions...
Thanks for the input.Last edited by Sno Wyte; 11-10-2011 at 09:59 PM.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

Link: Police impersonation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Florida Statue Link: Section 843.08, Florida Statutes 2009
Dressing up as a police officer in costume, or pretending to be a police officer for the purpose of play or a harmless prank toward an acquaintance is generally not considered a crime, provided that those involved recognize the imposter is not a real police officer, and the imposter is not trying to deceive those involved into thinking he/she is.
The following impersonations class as the offence:- Verbal identification: The imposter announces to the unsuspecting victim that they are a police officer.
- Fake Badge or Warrant card: The imposter, though not in any special clothes, displays a police-like badge or identification card to the victim. Sometimes a real police officer will not even be able to differentiate between the real and fake badge, as some duplicates are very, if not exactly alike.
- Fake uniform: The imposter wears a uniform that looks very much like that of a police officer.
- Fake vehicle: The imposter places lights, decals, or other equipment on a personal vehicle to disguise it as a police car and enable the offender to make arrests or traffic stops.

We can ALWAYS use a little 411 from the L.E.O.'s perspective on here. I welcome this and have made this a sticky.

Now, that being said, Lets keep this thread STRICTLY on topic and do not run rampant with ignorance. This is a great place for a questions and answers from "actual" persons that are in law enforcement. Any stupid chatter just to mess around will be deleted without warning so I dont want to hear any whining from the usual suspects.....Last edited by REY; 11-10-2011 at 09:53 PM.

Why dont we make it that all questions are to be made in a Red font and then the answers in a Green font so that the thread doesnt look like the "last post wins" thread
