Like I said, I know we discussed this all year. You take credit from Newton putting up almost as many yards as the #1 RB on Carolina's roster, and then you forget that their defense was awful this year. Carolina wasn't a bottom feeder. They just had injuries that crippled the defense. It's why as a Falcons fan I'm worried about Carolina next year. We have new coordinators and hopefully a new look on offense and defense, but Carolina can only get better as they get healthy.

Meh, theyre also getting old. That o-line has been together for a while. With Newton they will be scary good. But im necesarily taking away from Newton, just feel Dalton should be entitled to more because he put his team in the postseason. That should count .. not just stats, you know? If you go back through the thread on the day they drafted him, and everyone was bashing the pick i said Newton would surprise, Carolina would suck, but they would surprise. And they did. Because he fits. Jus like Flacco fits in Baltimore, Brees fits in the dome ( but not in san diego) and Tebow fits in with those big nasties in Denver.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

That five-year, $90 million contract extension that quarterback Peyton Manning received from the Colts recently has built-in clauses that protect the team financially if Manning can't play.
According to NFL Network's Michael Lombardi, Manning would be eligible for termination pay of $1 million in 2012 and $500,000 in 2010 if his recent neck surgery precludes him from playing again. The contract reportedly includes a $28 million non-guaranteed option and a separate $28 million non-exercise fee if the Colts elect not to pick up the previous option.
The contract leaves a window in which the Colts could release Manning and not pay either sum. That would mean he would earn $26.4 million this season.
Manning underwent single anterior fusion on his neck Thursday, which was his third neck operation in 19 months. Not only will he miss Sunday's season opener in Houston--he did not miss a game because of injury in his previous 13 seasons, a streak of 227 consecutive starts--but his availability any time this season is now uncertain.
The Colts have given no indication about when they expect Manning to return, but it doesn't appear that they're considering putting the four-time NFL MVP on the injured reserve list, which would make him ineligible to play this season.
IIRC the contact has a clause that allows for a re-negotiation.

Yes but Manning will play. Even this year ( where they KNEW he wouldnt play) they never put him in IR. Why would they do it next year? The situation in Denver was a disaster, if the Colts are smart, and want to save money, they will get this resolved BEFORE it becomes a huge issue.
And its finally the weekend.
Next week
the NFC season will end the same way it began, the 2 best offenses airing it out.. (MVP game?) : GB vs. NO
the AFC season will end in a way no one ever expected the kid that cant throw vs the perennial top defense: Den vs. BaltLast edited by *JamReX*; 01-13-2012 at 08:49 AM.

^ Not next year. That was about this year which Manning didn't play. I have no clue about next year. I hope he returns as the Colts starting QB.

Fisher isn't that great of a coach. I'm not sure why teams are freaking out about him. With Tennessee he was meh, but Eddie George and Steve McNair made that team, not Fisher.

re-writing... brb.
Edit:
First of all you can't sit there and say Jeff Fisher wasn't a great coach. He helped the Titans to a 142-120 during the 17 years he coached there. You don't keep a coach for 17 years to say he isn't a great coach. He wen't 5 -6 in the playoffs and went to the superbowl. That isn't a bad resume. Steve McNair didn't make the team. Him and Eddie George were good players, but they weren't no Troy Aikmen and Emmit Smith duo. Fisher is a great Defensive coach and he would of worked out great in Miami, but Miami didn't want to Restructer. (Now correct me if I'm wrong) It was posted all over ESPN yesterday. The Rams can benefit from Fisher. They have the #2 pick, they have a good QB, and just need a few more key players for their Offense. The Rams offense needs a little work ,but their Defense needs to be redone and Fisher can help the Defense a lot. The Last time the Rams made the playoffs was in 2004 and I bet anything he will get them there within a few years.
Edit: ESPN is retarded. No way Manning will be dealt to the Browns. No way!!!!!!!!!!Last edited by CoRDiTe; 01-14-2012 at 11:15 AM.

Fisher really wasn't that good. What happened when George and McNair left?

McNair got drafted in 1995 and got traded off in 2005. Eddie George got there in 1996 and retired in 2003.
From 95 to 2003 ( 9 years) they went 96 and 80 IIRC. from 2004 to 2010 ( 7 years ) without those two they went 45 and 35. Both records are quite similar. They got rid of McNair and picked up Vince Young who happens to be a good QB. He had a fall out with Jeff Fisher a few years back. Titans are at a good point right now. They have a veteran QB in Hasselbeck. They also have decent offensive backs. Both Johnson's are pretty good. After the 2005 season they only had one bad season which was last year when they went 6 and 10. Fishers last year when he retired from coaching and took a year off. This year the Titans went 9 and 7. I don't see the point you're trying to make. With Fisher as the Coach at least 75% of the time they placed either 1st or 2nd in their Division. They had a few 3rd and 4th places, but they were usually a decent team. They will bounce back and Fisher I believe will make the Rams a contender.Last edited by CoRDiTe; 01-14-2012 at 03:15 PM.
