What was the outcome? One superbowl after getting rid of the coach that got them there and then going 4-12 the next season?

During the Late 90's and early 00's the Bucs were a pretty decent team. They only made the post season twice after winning the SB.

Something that most teams would wished they had in recent memory.If your teams goes 14-2 and loses in the playoffs and doesnt even make the big dance whats the point of the season?They loaded up on offense and paid big for a coach and it paid off.They dug themselves in the hole giving up the 1st round picks but i dont regret it.Any team would do that and they do it yearly by signing free agents and big name coaches and it usually doesnt work.The Saints did it sucessfully by adding the missing piece on defense to help thier killer offense and it paid off too.Now if we all followed the recipe of certain teams and gave up the draft to add to a already good offense after our secondary got anal raped at home we would know what were talking about.lol

I agree but grudens model of getting an ancient qb didnt work again(Garcia) and it was his demise.You have to take your lumps to get to the top.Look at the Packers/Steelers thats the model everyone should follow.

And no, building through the draft isnt the recipe for success. Yes, its part of it. But there is more to it. You need players who are dedicated, a coaching staff that can mold not only rookies, but any and all players joining the organization, and you need to grind day in and day out. NONE of which the bucs do. The coaching staff is buddy buddy with all the players and has no clue what theyre doing. Management who couldnt care less about the team, and they have more divas and criminals than football players. They got plenty of talent... but there is much more needed to be successful than "drafting talented players"

I'm sorry, but Garcia was a good QB. He was not a bad QB. They could of kept him instead of leftwhich to help mold Freeman. Nabbing Leftwhich was a waste of fucking time. Garcia could of signed a 1 year or 2 year contract to help Freeman out since he was a rookie with no experience. Yes Freeman is doing pretty good without a veteran QB to help him, but he could of learned so much from Garcia.

There have been plenty of player who produce right out of the gate. plenty of young guys who contribute immediately. The difference between those players and the bucs players is that they are dedicated to their craft and work with their coaches and facilities provided to them to improve their skills. And not getting distracted by other things not football related.

Too many players not enough professionals in the NFL. We need more professional athletes. Some of the players in this league are a joke. Getting into trouble with drugs, weapons, alcohol, abuse, etc.. etc.. Either grow the fuck up or find another profession. This is the reason I will not buy a Professional sports jersey. Every time I have a favorite player on a team they end up getting into too much trouble and end up getting traded off. The only jersey I could see myself buying right now would be a Peyton Manning jersey. At least I know he will not end up a stupid idiot getting into trouble with guns, drugs, police, etc.. etc.. and will retire a Colts. The last Jersey I remember buying was a Hardy Nickerson jersey. I follow close to 20 NFL teams. Every team has their good players and their bad players.
