Major Traffic Delays Tomorrow
Just a heads up incase youve been under a rock the last week.
PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- The Foster Grant Ironman 70.3 World Championship Triathlon will present plenty of traffic issues Saturday in Clearwater.
Count Coronado Drive, MLK, Jr. Avenue, Belcher Road and Roosevelt Boulevard among the major streets that will have traffic impacted during the race.
The East Lake area at Trinity Blvd. will have a major impact as bikes will be using the center lane.
Also, South Gulfview Blvd. will be closed until Monday at 8 a.m.
Officials are letting the public know in hopes of avoiding traffic snafus along the 56-mile bicycle route.
The race begins at 6:45 a.m. on Clearwater Beach with a 1.2-mile swim. The bike portion comes next with the course twisting along the Memorial Causeway Bridge, Drew Street, Countryside Boulevard, McMullen-Booth Road, East Lake Road, the Bayside Bridge, Roosevelt Boulevard, Belcher Road and Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard.
The race ends with a 13.1-mile run through Clearwater Beach and downtown Clearwater.

I work at the Albertson's on Gulf to Bay and Belcher and last year when I got there an hour or so late for work my manager said: "Oh, you actually made it! *other manager* has been sitting in traffic for two hours." Last time I ever forget about this event.
