Am I the only one who caught that he isn't just magically making illegals legal? Hes offering a pathway to citizenship for illegals already in the country. Its going to cost them money, make them spend a lot of time on it, and force them to acculturate. How is that worse than having a bunch of illegals sitting around...well...being illegals?

This will be a net gain for us. Illegals here already work. They just funnel their profits through offshore relatives, work on others' social security numbers, or do work under the table. Getting them legit, letting them pay taxes, and subjecting them to everything else the rest of America is subjected to would help bolster our economy.


Our current system for illegals to become American citizens is fucking stupid. Hell, I'm an American citizen and I tried reading it and barely understood the process they have to go through. Its ridiculous and in need of reform.

How about instead of giving them a pathway to be legal we give them a pathway back to their own country and then lock down the borders...hey theres 14 million jobs for legal citizens, hmm think that might boost the economy a little and make it to where people who were born and raised here and have worked their ass off all their lives can get back to work and not lose everything like most of America is doing right now.

And another thing if they are here illegally how can any of them pass a criminal background check when just them being here is a crime!! Seems like they should all fail the background check just for being here illegally so therefore they should all be deported to begin with for being criminals. Why would they apply for legal employment when they don't have to pay now? You think they're going to go learn english, (insert the rest of the guidelines here), THEN pay taxes? LOL.

BTW, alot of immigrants go back to their own country. Most of the ones I've worked with have family back home, and are only in America to send money back to them. Why bother go through the hassle if you're only going to be here temporarily?

Why bother paying taxes if you don't have to? Do you honestly think any human being wants to have to go through the shit immigrants have to in order to survive in this country? Immigrants don't pay taxes because they don't have any SSNs (you'll note that those who do have SSNs that they stole from someone else pay taxes). If you made them US citizens and said, "Heres a SSN. Go find a job." they'd be just as apt as any other American to pay taxes. And if not, guess what, the IRS gets the audit them and ruin their lives so bad they flee back to their country of origin. Its a win/win no matter how you slice it.

Oh, and the cool thing is that if you give them the opportunity to become citizens and some of them decide NOT do to so because they're pieces of shit, you'll see the rest of the immigrant community start to them them in for deportation. Tougher laws and a deportation campaign on immigrants not willing to play by the rules + rules that people can actually play by (the current rules are ridiculous) = the best option.
