Veterans Day
I know there is a fair amount of veterans on the site. Just wanted to say thank you to all those who are currently serving. Also a big thanks to those who have served in the past.
Heroes
By Jared Jenkins
In war, there are lives risked and lives taken
Men and women giving their best to defend what they love
They defend their country
Their honor
Their people
Some call them soldiers
Others call them heroes
Our veterans have risked their lives for us
They have lived through hell and fought with honor
Many have killed
And regret doing so
For every life, there is a soul
For every soul, there is a life
For those who have died, we show great appreciation and remembrance
For those who live, along with them live the horrific memories of battle
Some, memories of defeat
Some, memories of victory
Our veterans were more than soldiers
They were, and still are heroes

Today should not be solely about the veterans. There's people that deal with war and conflict back home.

1) To the VETERANS, thank you on YOUR day.
2) To current service members, thank you even though today is not a day set aside for you....yet.
Today is VETERANS day, not current service members day.
This is the day that we remember those who have fallen and served before, not currently serving. Those who are currently serving are no less thanked. Trust me. But this day looses it's importance when we meld it with something else IMO.
Again, to those who are currently serving, thank you also, but today is the day tht we need to remember those who have died serving in the past and who have helped to keep us safe even in times of peace in the past.
