Need Legal advice.........

I have a prepaid college fund, that was taken out of the child support that was paid by my father to my mom. Im older now and haven't used it, and really could use it on bills a debts, but my dad refuses to give it to me. What i want to know is how i could access the account, or if i have any right to. i would think i can because it was taken out of child support he paid, but i dont know. any advice would help.

You won't get it. Do you think that child support was actually obligated to go to you? If that was the case then all these hookers who get knocked up would have to show an accounting statement to verify every dime received went to the child. That money was set aside for the purpose of education.

ok. then it should go to my mother then. it was taken out of the money my mother was supposed to receive monthly. correct? so its her money. he wont even give it to her.

If you can prove it was allocated from the child support then yea you should be able to get it or at least your mother should but thats going to be hard to prove especially if it's in his bank account (I'm assuming that because you nor your mother can get to it).

having a good paying job now with no education means nothing, cause if you lose that job at least you could fall back on a degree... this day experience means nothing with out that piece of paper. Im 30 and had to go back to school cause of that. My mom is 50 and had to go back to school because her career field is telling her her 20 years experience means nothing now with out a degree...

im 20. no he hasnt been paying it for 3 years. i am a supervisor at a major lawn and landscape company, and i am an irrigation tech and installer, and i do all the bobcat and site work the company does. i am a valuable asset to my company and if it ever turned for the worst i could get a job at any other. in my field its very little book work and lots of hands on. a degree is a piece of paper to wipe my ass with.

My fiancee is a semester away from graduating with his electrical engineering degree and the union wanted to start him out as an apprentice.. even tho he was about to have a degree... so bottom of the pole while these much older men who have been doin the job for 6 - 20 yrs is way up there... with no degree.. you know..

anyways is the prepaid account with FL prepaid? if so.. you wont get the money unless the " account holder" your father most likely signs it off to the beneficiary ( you).. i tried.. i wanted to use 2 grand for a trade school and the rest on bills and moving....my father also wouldnt sign it off to me... i have till im 25 to use 10grand or it rolls off to my sister and so on.. if the last sibling doesnt use all the money by the time they are 25 the account holder gets a check...and fuckkk that.. im 23 and start my RN in jan.. its myy moneyyy good luck!

thanks for the advice. yea its a dick ass system. if thats true then i will never see a fucken dime. best of luck to you with your RN. my lady is trying for the same.
