Use a Triangle. and pull it you should be able to figure out the rest

The one with the opening, do you mean the one where there is a small gap and you have to get across it and there is a ball you can knock down there to fill the gap? On that one I just built two machines, one was just a long stick with two rollers that bridged the gap, the other was a small stick with two rollers that pulled the block across. It was ghetto.
