Jap Dan
My name is Leo. Im sorry to hear about your ecu. If you do happen to find it and decide to try and fix it I have a few pointers for you. When you open the casing dont do it on the carpet. Static will cause a ESD [eletro static discharge] breakdown to electronic componets. Do it on tile or on your kitchen, bathroom floor and take off shoes and socks. Wash ALL electronic componets with pure isopropanol alcohol. Dry then repeat again. If you have a air compresser then dry board out with high psi. It is important that you get every nook and cranny with the alcohol. It will clean and remove all foreign materials in your casing, board, and componets. I do this type of work at Honeywell for Space Defense and Special Opps. We have issues with bad stuff similar to yours however obviously we dont have parts brought out of the bay but if we did, this is the simple step we take. 99% of the time its fine. Seeing how it was in the water for a short period im almost sure this will help you as well. Good luck and again im sorry to hear about your expirence. P.S go get yourself a concieled weapons permit. Eye for an eye next time douche bags pull out there weapons. You can to!!!!
